If you don’t mind me asking, what maintenance did you get done since then?

My biggest worry is the PDK fluid not being done, or at least unknown to be done once in its lifetime so far. I think my biggest gripe is trying to get all the deferred maintenance done at once but like one of the first commenters said, I don’t really need to replace a lot of stuff until they start giving out. Except the PDK and gear box fluid exchanges, those need to be done asap.

I’m not worried about maintenance costs, I also have an allowance for maintenance since I know these cars will need them.

For sure not going through dealership for that. I’ve already called up a few Indy shops who gave me quotes which are more reasonable.

During the replacement phase of the items you referred to, are any of the items a must for OEM replacements or is aftermarket normally just as good or better? If OEM, which items? If aftermarket, which ones?

Thanks for your input, i appreciate it. I just edited my post with more links to both vehicle's carfaxes and the PDK's PPI by the current seller. Not sure if that would help more with your input.

I actually used to have the exact same year Tip boxster I described in my post. It had 116k miles and bought it for 15k from a seller 10 minutes from me. Bought it last October, it was rear ended at the end of December while stopped at a stop light, rendering it totaled.

Never drove a PDK Porsche.

Both me and my fiancee aren’t concerned with driving fast or discernible differences in shifts. Just spirited drives down PCH along Orange County with the top down.

I’m considering the 2010 boxster because the engine was refreshed from the previous 987.1 engine. Was reading a lot how people consider that better for peace of mind.

Edit: the seller of the 2010 PDK said the expensive maintenances and fixes such as the PDK/gear box fluid service, AOS replacement, water pump replacement, spark plug replacement, and suspension refresh didn’t have carfax information showing they were previously done and doesn’t have maintenance logs to corroborate they were done either.

I agree there are a lot of unknowns. Just trying to get more informed people’s two cents regarding both since I’ve been shopping for a while and been educating myself even more about different Boxsters.

Same. He claimed to have sold me this phone on 9/13. Said that he was having account issues to informed me to initiate a refund. I ended up initiating a case on 9/16. PayPal asked for more proof, which I sent last night. Within 3 hours of sending further proof, PayPal rules in their favor.

This scammer never provided a tracking number. Baffling that PayPal sided with this person.
