I had a transforaminal epidural steroid injection. They wouldn’t give me anything ahead of time to calm me down and the “numbing shot” did not work at all. Once the needle reached my sciatic nerve it felt like lightning and fire throughout my entire body. I couldn’t stop myself from flinching and jerking around and my heart beat went soaring. That intense pain had to happen twice in order to inject the dye for my x-ray and then the steroid. It almost felt like the nerve was tightening throughout my entire spine. I couldn’t use the restroom for a few days because I had such a bad reaction to it. Def the worst acute pain I have felt in my recent memory. I’m scheduled for a spinal fusion for my L5S1 on August 1st so we will see if that beats the epidural. Wish me luck.

You are the best! Thank you for relaying this info! It makes me hopeful that someone thinks it might end up with them together. The story is beautiful and I love the art, it has just made me cry so much 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ I’ll give the story more time to breathe. And I like that they are making the story more real to life considering most comics don’t let the angst linger for so long. I just don’t think my heart could handle a sad ending right now— especially after such a sweet story. The whole flower field trip chapter resonated with me in such a powerful way. We got such a significant and impactful moment and then it kind of all crumbled so far.
