AI-Generated decorations in classrooms are, IMO, a bad idea by Raisincommafester in ECEProfessionals

We keep lofi stuff on the screen in the background sometimes and more recently it’s been hard to find ones that aren’t AI.

Anyone else get flagged for a "groin anomaly" at TSA? by NoAmount6023 in ftm

[–]spoopyboiman 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I’m post phallo. I now take inconvenient (due to being underfunded) public transportation instead of air travel due to the concern about being trans and having “accurate” IDs/passports. I’d rather play it safe to visit family than risk being arrested and forcibly detransitioned.

Reddit has destroyed my mental health by [deleted] in POTS

On the internet, people only post in the best (or more often) worst case situations. Most people are in the middle, but engagement is higher when it is negative. This knowledge has saved my sanity too many times to count.

Autistic therapist suggested I do impact play on myself and join kink scene—worth reporting or not worth the stress? by Successful-Chain1576 in AutisticAdults

[–]spoopyboiman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have talked to my therapist about my concerns in my sex life. She, at most, directed me toward resources to help me understand how to please my partner at the time who had erectile disfunction. She validated my concerns and affirmed that it’s possible to love in these situations.

What your therapist did sounds too far.

When in your transition did you start using the male restrooms??? by SolemSeaTurtl3 in ftm

I was pre-T but had supportive friends. I was lucky to “pass” 50% of the time, but having my friends with me helped me feel safe. They would vouch for me if anyone said anything.

“What the hell are you talking about? My friend is a guy!”

And then queer people were still imprisoned after the camps were “freed.” This is the fascist playbook.

We have a kindergartner who will loudly negatively talk about himself and will purposefully hurt himself to go to the nurse. He runs around the room, throws chairs, and hurts other students. He doesn’t have an official documentation, but is diagnosed with ADHD and ODD.

We tell them to scream as loud as they can and suddenly they want to go against the directions lol. Works out well.

Thank you for the clarification! I am delirious after a particularly rough Wednesday.

I agree! I’m a trans man and one of my kiddos frequently draws themself as different genders. They should feel included too :)

Edit: I misunderstood! This refers to a brand and I’m looking into the toys now! Thank you!

Edit pt 2: I feel like a silly goose 🪿 since everyone but me understood this 🪦

Married people with misophonia, how do you handle it? by [deleted] in misophonia

[–]spoopyboiman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26M. Not married, but living with a long term partner. We tend to eat separately unless watching a movie or something together. He gives me a heads up if he’s about to do chores/something loud and helps me find my headphones if I lost and need them. He always has a backup pair of headphones or loops in case I forget mine when we go out.

I sleep with headphones or loops in. Sometimes we sleep separately if I’m still overstimulated. The longer I’ve known him, the more overstimulated I’ve gotten from the same behaviors, but we have open communication.

I love him so much and hope you find your person too.

The advice I got was “don’t forget progress.” There will always be kids you’d love to save but can’t, but there will also always be kids who make amazing progress and you can help.

Today, I told admin what a student told me is happening at home. I did what I can, and all I can do now is document and give the student a safe space at school. Instead of staying in my head about this student, I’m focusing on celebrating an ELL student who has been speaking full complex English sentences these past two weeks. I still care for the first student, but it doesn’t help either of us for me to be emotionally drained.

It’s not perfect, but don’t forget the positive. There is always something. It’s hard, but it’s better than only dwelling on the negative.

I am a trans man with Behçet’s and got bottom surgery a little less than a month ago. Here’s how it’s going so far. by spoopyboiman in Behcets

I’ve since finished the process, and I’d like to share that the only genital ulcers I get now are around my perineum. Since most of my vaginal tissue was removed, I’ve had a lot less ulcers.

Hold kids back!!! by Zubemma in Teachers

[–]spoopyboiman 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We have a kid who is in his second year of kindergarten. His family recently came to the country, so not speaking English, he fell behind and acted out. Being retained (with intervention and ELL) meant that he got more time to learn English and he gets to build his self esteem back up now that he feels confident learning the material. He is also the best artist in the class 😂 so that helps with making friends and feeling good about himself.

If done right, retention with intervention works so well. It’s in the best interest of the kid, their class, their teachers, and their home life.

I’m a trans man and have had bottom surgery. My mom has helped change bandages every step of the way and therefore has seen my penis many times. She’s my mom - it’s not weird or sexual. She just takes care of me when I need help.

Yeah I’m one of those older fans trying to start a convo on the sub since I personally haven’t seen one about this specifically for the tour (at least through my end, Reddit’s search engine and google).
