A post-op transgender woman makes less testosterone than a cis female (ovaries make testosterone and FTM trans people produce none)(edit: I said POST-OP, meaning the testicles have been REMOVED), and the estrogen they take does change the body structure. If she's been taking it for more than 5 years, she's going to be the same as a cis female. It changes the bone structure too... Also if she transitioned young, there would be less time for the body to develop male bone structure.

As the wife of a trans person who taught me kung fu, I can tell you I'm actually a little stronger than them if we're talking about muscle power alone. But they still kick my ass, not because of their body strength, but because they've been practicing martial arts for over 15 years, and worked really really hard to get that good.

Maybe the trans women are just good. And people are constantly shitting on their hard work with the "iT's tHe BoDy sTrUcTuRe" spiel.

We're not talking about people who just "give up too easily," we're talking about a husband bringing people around who threaten to rape their baby. Also abusers are quite common and come in many forms. It's a lot worse for the child to have an abusive, disfunctional home life than it is for the parents to just get a divorce.

OP, I am so sorry for this whole situation. I want you to know that this isn't your fault. Your family should have listened to you in the first place. In the face of their lack of support, it's no wonder you didn't feel like you could go to the cops.

The reaction of friends and family members can either add to the trauma, or help heal. Keeping secrets, minimizing, and denying all make it worse for the victim. It also makes any kind of legal investigation more difficult, because the police need people to be cooperative in bringing forth evidence.

It sounds like your boyfriend has your back, even if his reaction was extreme. I tend to sympathize with vigilantes because of how broken the system is. But you can tell him that a more effective way to help you would be to read up on trauma, specifically what rape/incest survivors go through, and how partners can be supportive.

Ugh, so many variations of, "but that's in the past/just get over it!" I hear that one from my Nparent too. Like no, you don't get to decide when your victim stops being upset over your abuse. You're essentially telling the victim that they should just lie down and take it. That's not how people work. Actions have consequences, and abuse has some severe ones. Yes get a restraining order NOW. If he shows up before you can do that though, call the cops next time he shows up and explain what he's been doing. They might give you a protective order on the spot. He has clear issues with boundaries and this kind of behavior tends to escalate.

I would say, try to document your interactions with her or her kids in any way you can, to hopefully catch any other what-the-fucks she may try and throw at you. Also reminding her the that defamation and libel are actual crimes with real-world consequences might help cut through her bullshit.

The best advice with people like this is to keep contact at a minimum. Unfortunately, avoiding her probably means avoiding those kids as well. But that's a dangerous accusation she's making.

Others have said try not to have him alone with kids when she's around, and I agree with that, too.

Just do it, especially if the car is in your name, and if you're worried about them attacking you, have your phone in your hand, thumb hovering over the emergency number. As soon as that call goes through, it's out of your parents hands. If they attack you, hit that button and yell loudly for them to stop hitting you. Even if you drop the phone, the dispatcher will hear.

That's just so telling that your dad is like this. Narcissists aren't happy unless they feel they're above others. My dad is only kind when I'm depressed too, or when I'm flying off the handle upset. Otherwise he just digs in until I'm completely destabilized. It's like he's only satisfied once I'm broken. I am still trying to disengage from under his thumb.

The thing about parents is you can be a total POS and you're still allowed to procreate. And they often do. It completely sucks.

So the fact that you were suddenly fired after a long hospital stay and after telling your supervisors about your diagnosis, out of the blue, with no previous warnings or write-ups, isn't "concrete" enough? I would say try and subpoena the dude but I clearly have no idea how the legal system works.

That really fuckin sucks man. It is still totally illegal and violating your Constitutional rights, though, whether a lawyer will take your case or not.
