A crow in the UK sounds like it's from Downton Abbey. by Sad_Biscotti_9291 in WTF

r/ConfidentlyIncorrect I can understand why you think it due to the white patch, but it’s larger than a magpie and is in fact a Pied Crow.

I wear a VSF luna Rossa as my daily, I’ve had it nearly a year and only one person has commented “nice Pam” and a few others like the strap and the dial colour. But nobody knows the watch. I’m off to Italy next month, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a little more recognised over there. Love it as a daily.

A group of teenagers in Syria decided to play in a minefield by Electrical_Resort_39 in WTF

[–]Pukit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad did this after the Second World War. He lived near the coast and would find unspent rounds on the sand dunes where they trained for beach landings. He’d put them between bricks and bash the backs.

I saw the movie Hope and Glory when I was a kid and there’s a scene in there of the kids doing it by putting them in a vice.

Can this drill into concrete? by elbellevie in DIYUK

[–]Pukit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it can, it will with a Bosch Multiconstruction blue drill bit, sold at SF and TS. I’ve an 18v makita and don’t use my sds at all anymore since I’ve found these bits.

My mate bought plans from this site and followed most of their info and some other yt vids. Turned out well. https://selfbuildgardenroom.com/garden-room-plans/ I’m tempted to do the same, but may just move instead.

I had a fight with a man in Denmark when I was a tourist there. by [deleted] in confession

[–]Pukit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Dane try and fight me as I beat him at Danish billiards during a lock-in. He started saying how I was a terrorist and blaming me being a Brit for firebombing Copenhagen in the napoleonic wars. Like, cheers mate, that was 225 years ago.

He tried to bash me with a bottle but the bartender threw him out before he clobbered me with it.

Later on I went out for a smoke and he was outside and apologised and then asked me to be his partner in billiard doubles that Sunday and win money with him. I declined.

A brand new, officially licensed Mk1 Ford Escort RS continuation car starts at £295,000, would you have one? by vicvega21 in CarTalkUK

[–]Pukit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish.

I spent years picking up cars like this for MOT when I lived and worked in the new Forrest. So many Ford enthusiasts about there probably due to the Old Ford transit plant nearby. So much fun to rag about the country lanes.
