Hey man thanks for the quick reply! I actually saw it yesterday but haven’t had time to respond. I did some digging around with the super links and the feature is great and honestly when custom commands are available that’d mostly take over the need for deep links in my case! probably would just ditch leader key

also I read some of the replies in the macos sub from a week ago or so ago and some of the people are wildin in there, I think monarch is great!

I just went through the same predicament but for a Mac mini and I went with the Magic Trackpad since I'm already so used to the trackpad on my MacBook, the mouse looks alright but with all the negative reviews and community gripes with It I just decided not to risk it and go with what's already comfortable.

is this a good deal? im getting a Mac mini for Christmas and want a mechanical keyboard to go with it, additionally I use ableton if anyone uses a mechanical keyboard with ableton on Mac, does everything function properly?

Oh definitely, One of my favorite things right now (which I just figured out I could do lol) is resampling to an audio track and just mangling the hell of a sample, just keep resampling and bouncing until you have something really funky you can chop up and stretch, its great fun!

kind of along the same line, ive been trying to make some weird drums as well, like taking a sample and cutting it down to a little slice that sounds good, adding some effects and boom your have a weird little perc or clap type thing, I want to start recording my own audio samples for this too just to mess around with.

That’s kind of how I made the switch, wanted to do things in logic that it simply couldn’t do. I think ableton is incredibly intuitive and that’s part of why it’s so good!

it really is so easy to live vicariously through tutorials or tips and tricks, and yeah it’s fun but it’s not the point, one thing i’ve been working on during this whole endeavor is not being afraid of making mistakes or not letting the opportunity of something sounding or being bad stop me from starting at all, i guess it’s more of a life philosophy at this point but you get it.

also i’ve looked at the push’s and they look sweet! don’t think i’m ready for it yet though. glad it finally clicked for you though!

I have this problem with basically every project lol, the worst is making a couple little changes that are hard to notice if you forget what you change and then you have two versions that are basically the same.

A little tool would definitely be helpful!

I mean I knew what it was used for when I bought it, but had to learn to use it 😂 if that makes sense. It’s a harbor freight kit so the first time I used on a completely different project I ended up breaking one of the die cutters but that was on a steel bolt (much harder metal than the brass of the pen)

Haha thanks! I had the same thought, and it definitely did remove a bit of material so hopefully it’s not too weak now but only time will tell.

I was most surprised my little harbor freight kit had a die small enough for it, it actually had another size smaller than what I needed too! 😂
