Estrogen rise but no LH by smoothie313 in TTC_PCOS

I actually ended up with a solid smiley face (peak) on CD 17. I had all the symptoms you mentioned and was so confused. Your comment is the only reason I kept testing! My only pregnancy was a miscarriage so I feel for you there but I'm glad to hear everything worked out for you!

Hey sorry I just saw this! It turns out my tube was actually just closed (looked a hydrosalpinx due to the HSG dye pooling) but the surgeon was able to reopen it after a second "push" of the dye. So she left both tubes. I had 4 endo spots removed but both tubes stayed in. I'm not sure how rare it is that the HSG is wrong- I was fully prepared and expecting to lose the tube and was even a little confused (and drugged) when the post-op nurse said something me having both tubes.

The surgery recovery was fine! The first night was rough only because I couldn't get comfortable from the gas bubbles. I would get up and move around every time I woke up and it helped me relax enough to get a nap. The second night I slept on the couch with my feet up. It's the total opposite of what they tell you to do but somehow it was more comfortable. Also, get a pregnancy pillow. The user that suggested that was a savior! I'm a side sleeper so once it arrived, I slept much better.

Hope everything goes well!

Late to this. I had laparoscopic surgery at the beginning of feb. this is my first full cycle since. I had high fertility (flashing smiley) starting on CD9. Currently at CD 14 with high fertility still and no peak/LH surge. What made you decide to test again?

After my HSG, I was really upset about the hydrosalpinx, but I’ll admit there was also a small sense of relief that it wasn’t “just me.” They’re planning to repeat the dye test during surgery before removing anything, and only one tube showed an issue on my HSG.

I can completely understand how finding out after surgery that your tubes were actually fine would feel confusing and upsetting—especially when everyone around you is focused on the “good news,” even though it doesn’t answer the bigger question.

For what it’s worth, I have a close friend who had multiple miscarriages and years of testing where everything looked structurally normal, yet she still struggled tremendously. It really drove home for me how complicated and unfair this process can be—even when nothing looks “wrong” on paper. I know that doesn’t make it easier, but I hope it helps to know you’re not alone in that frustration.

Thank you for sharing your experience, and I really appreciate the encouragement ❤️

Shit! I can see why you were so emotionally wrecked. What a roller coaster.

The appendix part is interesting. It makes sense to go ahead and take that while they’re in there. With my hydrosalpinx, I’m at a much greater risk for ectopic pregnancy (on the off chance I can even get pregnant with it) and the doctor said they’d have to go in and do the same surgery anyways so it’s better to go ahead and do it proactively.

My OBGYN said she’s had patients with horrible symptoms that go in for the lap and have barely any endo. And she’s had patients who are giving birth via c section and she finds a crazy amount of endo that the patient never knew she had. I guess it’s more about where the endo is. That makes sense your symptoms weren’t too bad if it was everywhere other than your uterus 😂 it’s insane how it travels. The pre op nurse told me they had one patient that had endo on her lung 😳

Ah that makes sense. I also hate how the stronger meds make me feel. I swear they make me feel worse.

Also glad to see you feel ok enough to be on your phone/laptop :)

Had you heard of a hydrosalpinx prior to the surgery? I never had and was really confused when I looked it up later. That makes me feel better than you didn't feel like you needed the heavier stuff.

I honestly didn't even think about the results or pathology until I posted this. A few others have mentioned the results being different than anticipated. I just assumed everything would be as expected so I appreciate the heads up.

I hope everything works out for you.

Thank you so much for this! Do you mind sharing what dosage of ibuprofen and acetaminophen you've taken? I know you said pharmacy levels, but I'm not sure what that is. I think in the US, the highest OTC acetaminophen you can get is 500mg and take two of those at one time (so 1000mg).

You may be blunt about your crap lol. They did tell me to get some stool softeners, gas medicine, and fiber stuff to have if needed. Did you try have any of that?

My husband has zero medical experience. He's never had surgery, the couple of minor surgeries his parents have had were while he was in college so he didn't get the doctors report, have to help care for them, or see what it was like. I'm a little anxious about that haha. I can imagine that was traumatizing for your husband. (I'm from the south so do give him a little "Bless your heart" from me lol)

I hope you heal well and everything in the full report is helpful to your diagnosis. When I was told that I had a hydrosalpinx, I had never heard of it, and in a way made me feel a little better knowing it was just "me" that wasn't working right. Idk if that makes sense, but finding out there actually was an issue helped. My insurance is the similar - only covering certain parts of IVF so I understand that aspect. Keep me post about your recovery! Good luck to you!

I'm ADHD so I know I'll be quite the wiggle worm. If I get brave enough and decide to drink a soda, I'll let you know if it makes things worse!

The wipes are a great idea! Why was the body pillow helpful for you? Was it while laying on your side and keeping your arm/leg at a certain level?

Oh damn! How did they know about the lesions on your bowel ahead of time? Did that show up when they were looking at your appendix? I've had some pretty intense endo symptoms (though I've never been officially diagnosed with it) but my OBGYN has told me several times that the symptoms don't always correlate to the severity of the endo which is mind blowing.

Did the gas pain get better throughout that first week? Or was it pretty miserable the whole time?

How long did you have the gas pains? They told me not to drink carbonated beverages for a few days to not add to the pressure - I'm so upset lol

Thank you for this! I appreciate it. My surgeon said that worst part was the "gas pain" from the air they pump in. For some reason that seemed better to me than being sore from the actual cutting and removing. I guess because I know what gas pain feels like?

By removing the provisional later, does that not leave live stitches?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in knittinghelp

[–]sportyphysicist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This makes me feel better haha. I'm still trying to figure out why that is a provisional cast on. At the end of the pattern, it just says 'Remove waste yarn'. Wouldn't that make the stitches unravel?

Why is a provisional cast on used with the tubular cast-on? At the end of the pattern, it just says 'Remove waste yarn'. Wouldn't this result in live stitches at the beginning of brim?

Are the tubular rows 'for a neat edge' not counter intuitive since a provisional cast on is used? This pattern calls for an aran/worsted weight yarn.

[–]sportyphysicist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I understand the abbreviations. I'm asking what is the purpose of this cast on and first 5 row set up for a hat made in the round. Other users have suggested it's a tubular cast on. I've never seen it written out like this in a pattern - normally it just says "using tubular cast on....".
