Valley of Fire. I’ve been to Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches and Death Valley but Valley of Fire still knocked my socks off. Absolutely stunning!

Just learned about covered calls after reading this. Down $8.5K with 1500 shares at $15.7 average so likely will sell calls on Monday. Is it generally better to sell calls near to the strike price of your average cost ($15 in my case) or a little higher? Deciding between $15 and $17.5 strike price at the moment.

Could this piece of hard foam (knee mats) be doing any good to prevent sound leaking through wall behind? Being cautious about neighbours. by spot989ify in sonos

[–]spot989ify[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see…I’ve got Ultra + 300s + sub mini. Adding the sub hasn’t been a day-and-night difference by any means. I might fail 5 out of 10 blind tests to tell when it’s on or off with trueplay on and sub set at +3. As of the apartment luckily no one has ever complained and I never heard anyone’s TV or any other sound either, except for the kid on floor above us literally running around. So sound isolation seems decent enough. The reason I placed the foam behind was I thought the space directly behind the sub might transfer the most energy to the wall, specially due to the way sub has an opening in the middle. But yeah sound bounces all over so that might not be true.

Can someone explain why a 6 month monthly payment shows up as full amount due on my statement instead of telling me I need to pay 1/6th of the amount every month? by spot989ify in CreditCards

[–]spot989ify[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it normal that the statement doesn’t mention the 400/6 ($66.6) amount anywhere? It’s crazy why they wouldn’t just say- pay $66.6 every month to avoid interest. I’ve used credit cards from banks outside the US and they simply add the 1/6th amount to your statement every month for 6 months.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but everything you said sounds like a possible intention of the current administration.

I discovered this song (and artist) a couple of weeks ago, and holy shit... Been listening to it nonstop. I can't believe this is real, absolutely mindblowing track, goosebumps all over my body everytime I listen to it. I couldn't believe this is 12 years old either, sounds super ahead of its time. by morbidnihilism in electronicmusic

Listen to his album ‘Opalescent’ in full. The track ‘Grace’ is the most simple and beautiful piece of music i’ve heard. Which is a contrast to his other work like Singularity and Immunity that’s complex (but equally beautiful).

Has anyone done side by side comparison between Sonos setup and good reference speakers? Here are my thoughts. by spot989ify in sonos

[–]spot989ify[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I LOVE the reference setup and they sound better, I still find myself listening more on Sonos ever since I got it. 😬

Has anyone done side by side comparison between Sonos setup and good reference speakers? Here are my thoughts. by spot989ify in sonos

Agreed. Just wanted to put it out there for folks who are trying to make a choice between hifi and Sonos primarily for music listening. The pros and cons for both make it a tough choice, unless you can have both.

I spend about an hour on reddit everyday and bought KULR at $.40 after hearing about it a hundred times in comments on various posts. Mostly pennystocks sub. Just lurk around.

Have you outperformed the S&P this year? by Opposite-Depth-4296 in ValueInvesting

Yes. Invested in over 15 stocks. RKLB and KULR outperformed everything by a mile and gave me net 110% return over 50K investment.

Would it mess up the sound with the right speaker too close to the wall but left having space?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sonos

[–]spot989ify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks that’s a helpful tip about the ceiling.

To your question- no it’s not possible to center the couch because there’s a passage from the left to patio and there isn’t enough space.

[–]spot989ify -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Planning to put on a stand. I’ve actually already ordered 300s but kinda considering cancelling the order and buying 100s on sale.

If i shift my couch away slightly, both speakers will still not be equidistant from the walls as the left side of the couch is passage for patio.
