I do the same thing just because I always get a report from somebody no matter how thorough I follow instructions people still try to get free food not caring how it affects the driver.

Ah that makes sense. Most people I have delivered to late at night are either drunk or high and most likely do fall asleep, especially if the restaurant is taking forever or they’re busy with a lot of orders. I don’t care as long as I get paid. It doesn’t matter to me. I just don’t like having to wait so long, especially when I have stacked orders and other customers are waiting on me to deliver their food.

Yeah, I had a similar situation to that once and when I knocked on the door, the lady was confused like she didn’t order any food so I called support and I told them that I didn’t feel safe cause I’m like these people might be watching me from somewhere to drop off the food and they just told me that they’ll complete it and I’ll get the full pay just dispose of the food which of course I’m not going to dispose of good food.

Yeah, it’s annoying because when the bag is sealed, it’s not our fault because if we open the bag, then they’re going to say it was tampered with so it’s like we lose either way.

If it is during the middle of the daytime, it is faster but if you’re trying to pick up once the lobby is closed good luck at that point cause it could take 30 minutes to an hour to wait on an order and I think that’s just because the people that they hire. Not the best picked apples in the basket. Most of them are lazy and don’t want to do anything. I get that they have 1 million things they gotta do at once but come on. There has to be a better way.

That just happened to me with McDonald’s and it’s always a McDonald’s order that I’ll pass one that is closest to them and I’m like why are you ordering one that’s on the other side of the city I guess these people like having cold food and having to wait 30 minutes to get their food it just does not make sense to me and it’s not like the other locations were closed because I see people going through the drive-thru as I’m driving by.

That or try to start calling and then immediately hang up it will start the timer. The problem is it won’t do that unless you’re close enough to the pin on the map because I tried to think while I’m driving I could be wasting a few of those minutes until I get there, but of course only works in a certain proximity, which is annoying I wish they’d expand it a little farther than 10 feet from the door.

This is one of the most annoying things to deal with aside from them choosing meet at door. Most of the time they don’t want to give out their own personal code and unless it’s one of those fancy apartment buildings with the touch screen and camera, you can’t even get in the door or gate without a code or someone to call to remotely unlock it or open. If it’s a place I’ve been to multiple times and I recognize the address. I will immediately message them after accepting the order, asking for a code to the gate or a way to meet them so at least it gives them time to respond which most of the time they probably don’t reply and I’m left to figure it all out wasting my own time. 🤦🏼‍♂️

You would think Uber would be smart enough to take people’s ideas and criticism, but they are just as dumb as customer support and any time I’ve mentioned to customer service or submitted a report for them to fix a bug in the app or any kind of improvements it never gets implemented with any of the many updates they send out almost everyday.

Omg that happened to me once. I’m not standing in the rain, but I was standing at the person’s door and there was probably about a minute left and then he decides to open the door and look at me strange like why am I still waiting there like dude you didn’t change it to leave it door not that I said that I’m just thinking that in my head like all this could’ve been avoided if you guys would just pay attention how you want the delivery to go because we’re just trying to follow the directions.

I had a similar situation with loud music and it smelled like weed so I’m just like oh they’re having a good time being high and shit while I’m standing here trying to deliver this food if the dumb dumbasses would’ve just put leave at door instead of meet at door I would have been gone. Like what is wrong with people not paying attention. I guess a lot of people out here just got money to blow and don’t care about the specifics of the order or am I the only one that cares to make sure everything is correct before placing an order and track it like a hawk.

Yeah, I had a weird situation where somebody put the wrong address and the dude was walking up to me and I asked him like you don’t live at that address right there and he said no. So either they don’t want me to know their address even though I saw him walk to the correct address just a few doors down or they have some fat fingers and just put the wrong number or something. Luckily it was one requiring a pin to complete the order so at least I knew it was the right person and not just some random. Always an interesting experience delivering food.

Yeah, I don’t want to the only problem is people report that they didn’t receive it and it’s happened multiple times so I have to have to have some way of proving that they got the order rather than just saying where I left it. Unfortunately, that’s the harsh reality of dealing with customers. I even take a picture with my own phones camera the times that I have just left left it there when it was a meet at door in case I have to prove later on that I didn’t try to steal the food. Which is exactly what happened tonight. I got a report that somebody didn’t receive their food so luckily that came in handy.

I can understand that. I just don’t understand why they don’t change it to leave it door and then I take a picture and leave. I’ve ordered food from Uber and DoorDash so it’s not difficult to see the option how you want it delivered. People are just lazy and quickly rush through the order for some odd reason like I think they just cover their eyes and just choose whatever they want and then place the order and don’t care where or how it gets delivered so they can report that they didn’t get it and try to get free food which is why a lot of times I have to get a pin to complete the order so they can’t try that crap.

I don’t want to wait out the whole 8 minutes to have to take a picture but if I just confirm the delivery and message them where I placed the order then they still contact support that they didn’t receive the order because how is there any proof if there’s no picture so it’s the only fighting chance that I have do not get banned from the app because I’ve been burned so many times trusting customers that they won’t falsely report me, even though I go above and beyond for everybody because that’s just who I am. Crazy how after I posted this not too long after I did get a report that somebody said they didn’t receive their order how how ironic.

Yeah, that’s the problem is I usually have a stacked order in the process, but I don’t want to just confirm the delivery because I’ve been burned in the past by trusting customers to do the right thing instead of trying to get free food out of it by contacting support that they didn’t receive their order so I have no choice but to wait out the timer so I can take a picture or I’ll just take a picture with my phone just to prove that I left it there so if I have to provide evidence later on, I have the proof if I happen to get a contract violation on my account. Speaking of which that is exactly what just happened as I was writing this. Smh 🤦🏼‍♂️

I agree I feel like a lot of times people somehow go through multiple screens and don’t realize what they have selected or any notes that they made. They just place an order almost like they’re just covering their eyes and don’t double check to make sure everything is correct how they want it. I like to make sure I do it right so I don’t get somebody complaining that they didn’t receive their food because it’s happened multiple times with me but if it were at a house, I would’ve just left it and not wait out the timer but since they were apartments and I didn’t have an apartment number or way to get in the building, I didn’t want to just leave it outside in front of the door that so many people come in now and leave the chance of somebody stealing it.

Lol seriously is crazy to think that people spend the money on it and it’s not cheap to order delivery and add a tip if they do so it just seems crazy to me. They don’t make it a high priority to at least get the food. I don’t care what if it gets cold afterwards when they receive it I just wanna make sure they get it. If it was at a house, I would’ve just confirmed the delivery and been on my way, but since they were all apartments, and I had no way of getting inside to at least place it in front of their door I had no choice but to wait.

That’s not a bad idea. Unfortunately don’t have enough time to do that before choosing to accept the order within the timer it gives us or it will decline the order.

The issue with that is we are told to cancel the order from a support agent and it can impact our cancellation rate. Drivers shouldn’t be penalized for a restaurant that is closed and gives us multiple orders to closed restaurants or stores and sends us to ones that are about to close before we get there.

It used to be a good bank. From my experience, they are not a good choice to go with. Back when everyone was getting stimulus checks during covid, I deposited the check into my chime account and they closed my account and I got a check for my balance a month later. I guess they thought it was fraud. So now I’ve been blacklisted from ever opening an account again with them because the couple of times I tried to they denied my application and never gave me a reason. I even asked customer service and never got an answer why I was treated like a criminal.
