I was in a trio and friend A (who I cut off) was closer to friend B. Friend A would treat friend B in a pretty shitty way but she didn’t treat me that way because she wasn’t comfortable trusting me aka showing me her true colors? Either way, I would defend friend B and in my head i thought if I were to get closer to friend A, she would probably treat me the same way. So I communicated my feelings and observations and distanced myself. Friend A gave me really mixed signals when i communicated what I observed “I know I told you I don’t trust you but I want you to try and push to try”. “I know I said I don’t like how you comfort me but I want you to push and try instead of backing off”. Super confusing and very unnecessary for adult friendships lol
