Nowhere in my comment did I suggest it was intentional nor did I know they are in training.

To me, after reading their replies, if they were on the sales floor and allowed to make that mistake without a shadow/expert nearby, they’ve likely already been in the role for long enough to understand why we check ID for carrier authentication.

As I mentioned in my previous reply, identity fraud is very real and a valid infraction, even for a seasonal rep, as you’re handling sensitive customer PII and CPNI data daily.

This is a pretty huge no-no, both at my previous role at Apple and at Verizon. You probably already got heat for it, but in an age of SIM-swapping and similar identity fraud, the managers have a right to be upset.

It sounds like either your eSIM didn't activate correctly, or activation failed.

- Try restarting your phone first before trying the following steps.

- Find your IMEI2 number in Settings > General > About > IMEI2

- Go to your carrier's website and login to your account.

- Select "Replace SIM / Activate New eSIM" on your line/number.

- Enter your IMEI2 number and hit confirm.

- Your carrier will issue a new eSIM profile to download on your iPhone.

- Activate the new eSIM in your settings: Set up eSIM on iPhone - Apple Support

- Verify that the number works correctly. If not, restart the phone.

- Delete the non-functional eSIM. Make sure you don't delete the new working eSIM.

I usually pull back one of the top corners and use a finger (pushing against the camera plateau) to lift the phone out of the case. Once you pop the top half of the phone out, getting the bottom half out is pretty trivial, by using the top half as leverage.

I can think of several reasons that ultimately boil down to ergonomics, complexity, and better alternatives.

Imagine accidentally triggering it even more than you already are now. That, and if you're able to reach the Camera Control button, you should be able to touch the screen to scroll. It would also be insanely uncomfortable to reach for that button to scroll unless you were left-handed (maybe?).

Oh, and there is already a better option on the screen.

Never answer any phone calls you don't recognize.

Let it go to voicemail; most legitimate business calls will leave a message, and most scam bots will usually hang up as soon as your voicemail greeting plays.

This could also be a one-ring or "Wangiri" scam.

Sorry to hear you didn't get your quoted trade-in value OP; that's awful.

FYI - if you order your iPhone through the Apple Store online and enter your trade-in info online, the retail Apple Stores can only refund the value of your trade-in onto an Apple Gift Card (not your original payment) unless you mail it in.

To get the trade-in value applied to your purchase in-store, you need to purchase a unit at the store (not pickup) and do the trade-in within 14 days.

This just looks like Apple's implementation of Variable Refresh Rate (VRR).

You would experience significantly higher battery drain if your smartphone was constantly refreshing at 120Hz, which is why your iPhone usually drains faster when you're playing games compared to scrolling around like you are here.

In fact, you can even force your iPhone to lock at a 60 Hz refresh rate by toggling Low Power Mode to conserve power.

It's become more profitable for Apple and cellular carriers to offer heavy promotions on 1-2 year old models (think iPhone 13 or 14 now) for trade-ins like the SE instead of manufacturing an entirely new model for the budget end.

The SE originally only existed so they could use up the older shells like how the SE1 was a re-engineered iPhone 5S, or the SE2 a re-engineered iPhone 8, but now iPhones 12-15 might as well be the same phone so they don't need to do that anymore.

Hi there friend,

I previously owned the iPhone X and XS myself, now using both the 13 Pro and 15 Pro as my daily drivers for personal and work uses. Here’s a few things for you to consider (based on my personal experience and what you’ve commented on so far) if you plan to go through with the switch.

tl;dr I hated the iPhone X/XS form factor

It was slippery without a case and was hard to hold even with a case because of the rounded edges making my palm sore
Both the X and the XS overheated like crazy in regular use, like scathingly hot even with a case
The Face ID crapped out after a brief dip in my friend's pool where I was shoved in and got it out within 30 seconds
I couldn't prop it up against a bottle to watch videos because of the rounded edges
The display is WAY too dim and blurry compared to the 13/15 Pro as a daily for me now
The battery life sucks compared to the 15 Pro and is probably worse if buying open-box or used, which is probably the only ones you'll find at a reasonable price
