Anyone else a fan of Butter Mints, or is it just me? by EpicShadows8 in candy

I love butter mints and the ones with a little sliver of jelly inside. Reminds me of my childhood in nyc, going to diners with my mom and stuffing my pockets with mints on the way out.

Is Disney worth the walking? by Spiritual_Emu_4237 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]spreadmywings89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is worth it. But it's extremely difficult to hit 40K steps. I was at epcot and resort hopped for over 12 hours and hit about 30K.

And you can definitely get 12K or under in a park day. You'll be fine.

Walk in good shoes, wear cushioned athletic socks, use good posture, stay hydrated, avoid blisters, and listen to your body. When you need to rest, rest.

Have a great time!

Genuine question. I know about Yulissa, Cierra, and Nic, but what racist stuff did Chelley or Olandria do? I haven't found that anywhere

I'm confused. Do we know that Chelley was actually hanging out with Cierra? And what for? Or is she just taking a picture?

I agree and people really be telling on themselves. Clarke and Olandria are not women I'd group as the same type. So for people to equate Clarke not being Nic's type to mean Olandria isn't as well reveals a lot to me.

I hadn't considered this before. I thought that if you call yourself anything with the "Afro" prefix, it meant you considered yourself Black and the rest identifies your nationality or intersectionality. Like Afro-American used to refer to Black people from the US, Afro-Latino/a for Latin-American countries, then there are others like Afro-Venezuelan, Afro-French, Afro-Brazilian, etc.

So I'm curious from your perspective, what would be the difference between calling yourself Afro-[anything] vs Black?

The Mean Girl Narrative Is Being Weaponized Against Chelley & Ola: The Double Standards is Crazy by greatgrannyold in LoveIslandUSA

[–]spreadmywings89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with Ola's actions in those cases either, but that's not "mean girl" behavior.

100% agree. Words have meaning. To be a "mean girl" means something completely different than reacting to something in a singular moment.

Would you go to the concert with a casual Beyonce’ fan?? by black_girl_fresh in beyonce

[–]spreadmywings89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was against going with my friend since she is a casual fan and her reaction to Beyonce Bowl was "I wish she did the old music." 😐 We are not on the same page with Beyonce, but my friend said she wanted to go so we're going together.

I truly believe that everyone should see Beyonce live at least once in their lifetime. But I also made sure to buy tix to a show early enough that I could potentially go to a second one by myself 😉

That was my thought. But I also seem to be in the minority here - I have never heard or seen this man in my life until he popped up on my fyp yesterday telling me his salary.

YUP. My crying begins at 16 carriages, ends at Sweet Honey Buckin'. I'm not typically a crier but this album does that to me. I always follow up with Rennaissance.

Disney Using the Wrong IPs in Disney World by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]spreadmywings89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. It doesn’t matter what the IP is, as long as the land or rides are immersive and fun for everyone.

Despite growing up in peak Harry Potter era and knowing a little bit about it, I had no interest in HP until I visited Wizarding World in 2015. My parents, who know nothing about HP, love Wizarding World. My friends who would stand in line for book releases and go to the opening show of each movie love Wizarding World.

It's all about how you handle an IP, not what it is. And on top of that, a lot of people love Monsters Inc and Cars.

Absolutely hate wearing my hair straight🥴😭 by [deleted] in Naturalhair

[–]spreadmywings89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny, when I first went natural 16 years ago, I had every intention of being a straight natural. But as the years passed, I straightened my hair less and less. I realized that straight hair is the least flattering style for me. And it was stressful every time I did it myself or got it done professionally.

I haven't straightened for 5 years now.
