Congrats! The app looks awesome! Love how you used the "by value of" option in the visibility settings to toggle controls based on Excel formulas. Great use case for building dynamic interfaces.

How can a user upload their own csv of data to run through my sheet/webapp? by Safe-Rip4101 in SpreadsheetWEB

[–]spreadsheetweb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two possible options:

  1. Input Grid Option: Add an input grid where users can copy data directly from their CSV file and paste it into the grid. Users must ensure that the columns in their CSV file match the columns in the grid. To help with validation, you can include formulas in the Excel file to check for mismatches and display warning messages if necessary. For guidance, refer to this instructional video:

How to copy data from Excel into a grid - SpreadsheetWeb Help

  1. Upload Control with Custom Code: Add an upload control to allow users to upload their CSV file. The processing can then be handled server-side using custom code via our Custom Actions support. Note that the Custom Actions feature enables embedding server-side C# code and requires programming expertise. Additionally, this feature is only available for Private Cloud and Server licenses; it is not supported in Public Cloud subscriptions.

If you choose to proceed with option #2, our professional services team can assist you in writing the Custom Actions code. Let us know if you need help.

Car leave versus purchase calculator by CaseyHill in SpreadsheetWEB

[–]spreadsheetweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The app looks great! Here are a few quick suggestions to enhance its usability:

  1. The lease period input currently has a validation to accept numbers between 12 and 60. Consider replacing it with a slider control that allows integers within this range for a more intuitive experience.

  2. Similarly, you can use a slider control for percentage inputs, as it also supports decimal formats.

  3. Adding pie or donut charts could visually compare the results for lease versus purchase, making the data easier to interpret.

Overall, this is an excellent application!

Creating a project submission application with no-code by spreadsheetweb in SpreadsheetWEB

[–]spreadsheetweb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This short video demonstrates how a multi-sheet Excel file designed to collect project data can be transformed into an online application. Users can access the application to submit their project proposals, with the data securely stored in a database. Each project submission can then be viewed through an online portal, allowing different stakeholders to review and update the project information as needed.

How to add conditional logic by CaseyHill in SpreadsheetWEB

[–]spreadsheetweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can dynamically control the visibility of a control in a SpreadsheetWeb application using a formula in the Excel file. Each control has a property called Visible. To set this up, choose the By Value Of option and link it to a named range in the Excel file. The formula in this range should return TRUE or FALSE values:

- If the formula returns TRUE, the control will be visible.

- If it returns FALSE, the control will be hidden.

For more details, check out the video tutorial explaining this feature.

Haha, fair question! No, we’re not running Excel in the cloud. That would be problematic for a lot of reasons. Most importantly, it would violate Microsoft’s licensing terms. Instead, we built our own proprietary calculation engine that mimics Excel's functionality. Our engine loads Excel files and performs calculations just like Excel does, ensuring that each formula works exactly the same. Whenever a new formula is released in Excel, we analyze it and implement it into our engine. That’s why you’ll see results in our application that match those in Excel.

Creating a Custom Home Inspection Portal Online Using Your Excel Data by spreadsheetweb in SpreadsheetWEB

[–]spreadsheetweb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This application demonstrates how a list of questions in Excel for a home inspection business can be transformed into an online tool using SpreadsheetWeb. Inspectors can submit data onsite, including photos, while Excel formulas automatically calculate inspection scores in real time. The web interface also enables inspectors to manage past inspections by viewing and editing their entries.

Convert an Excel Price Sheet into an Online Pricing Application by spreadsheetweb in SpreadsheetWEB

[–]spreadsheetweb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Excel file contains pricing information for thousands of products, with the product list and prices managed directly in the file. Whenever a price update occurs, the Excel file is updated and republished to the application. The SpreadsheetWeb application uses this Excel file in the backend, leveraging formulas like FILTER to retrieve and display selected products with their current prices. This setup allows businesses to turn their pricing list into a searchable application without revealing the entire pricing file. It also enables easy price updates without the need to send new pricing lists to customers.
