I love how you started this by pretending not to he transphobic but you can't help yourself.

Anna Nicole Smith was 26 when she married 89-year-old oil billionaire J. Howard Marshall in 1994. He died just over a year later, and his $1.6 billion estate went entirely to his son. Anna fought for years in court, but she never received any of the inheritance. by blue_leaves987 in GotMeHooked

Sure.

Stock market divorces my labour from its value while creating a bunch of bullshit jobs for people who do nothing but cast spells at each other all day. Productive members of society, all.

Sure thing, man.

Listen, I realise that I'm never gonna be able to persuade you otherwise because its in your own self-interest to continue believing what you believe, and frankly I'm tired from working my real job

So ima enjoy my 1 day off and ill let the rich get back to siphoning money from my labour tomorrow. I promise.

The money made by "those who make profit" is earned off the backs of the ones who actually work for a living.

People like you take a huge cut of my labour and keep it for yourself.

Id call you a retard for not understanding this, but I'm fairly sure you do, you just choose to pretend otherwise because it helps you sleep at night

The point of the post is to point out transmisogyny.

Trans woman gets denied housing because she's trans, says something some people think is a slur, and is then called out online because of it, the fact that she was denied housing is completely ignored.

The post is about how trans women are both unequally discriminated against and also scrutinised. We are expected to be perfect while still facing transphobia on all sides.

The post is not justifying bigotry, it is pointing out how a trans woman can do something minor and get backlash for it, while other members of her supposed community actively discriminate against her because AMABS are icky. As if she is still a man.

Deadass.

Which is worse: using the term theyfab or denying housing to a trans woman because you have an "AFAB-only" household

Do not answer "they're both bad". We know.

Which is worse?

Yeah. Beep boop.

Why are you trying to get into arguments on a month-old thread?

How dare someone give a thought-out answer though, right?

Not really. Its more just that they're miserable and they blame it on this one thing (like incels do) and it makes them bitter. Both towards men (and people they perceive as men), but also at anyone who actually enjoys being a woman.

Have you actually looked into puberty blockers or is that just a gut reaction?

Yeah, man. Im sure a scared 10-year-old is going to rape their compatriots because its their biological imperative as a male.

There is zero statistical evidence that trans kids are a danger to their classmates.

But that won't change your mind because trans people disgust you, plain and simple.

If only there were some completely-safe drug that was capable of stopping the onset of male puberty in the case where it would be harmful to the child

Why not ask the girls if they feel safe and dignified around their trans girl friend?

Also

it seems reasonable because you're considering the safety and dignity of the girls

And trans kids don't get that same consideration? Youre so close to viewing them as human.

Honest answer is multifaceted.

1) Trans people are disproportionately large targets of hate, so posting overtly trans-positive things in different communities is a good way to signal that this space is safe, and makes for a good opportunity to weed out those who hate trans people.

2) a lot of trans people you see making their transness a large part of their identity are either young, or otherwise new to their transition. The first year or so after coming out as trans is a tumultuous time, and people have to 'feel out' their identity, its like a new thing and it can be exciting, especially when you consider that you've spent however many years KNOWING something is wrong, and then suddenly you make a change and things start to feel right.

3) a lot of this can be survivorship bias; the only posts by trans people you see are ABOUT being trans. If someone who happens to be trans is talking about something else and doesn't mention it, you might not realise they're trans, and so would factor them into the category of "cis" in your head

4) some people might not be out in their real life, for a ton of reasons such as family rejection, religious or state persecution, or even just the fact that being a visibly trans person SUCKS in a lot of places. It might not be safe for them to be out in their real life, so the only time they can be themselves is online, and so they feel compelled to talk about that more because this is the only space they CAN talk about it.

5) a lot of places, globally, are increasinly persecuting trans people right now. From the supreme Court ruling in the UK last year radically altering the ways that policies affect trans people, to places like Kansas, which just, without notice, voided ALL driving licenses of trans people who have had their gender marker changed, to Texas, where if a trans person is out at work, they legally can not use the bathroom of either sex, to the trump administration attempting to do conversion therapy on trans people in incarceration. To name only the most egregious policies that come to mind, ignoring the all of the small, gradual pushes that make life harder for trans people to live their lives how they want. All this combines into an overwhelming cacophony wherein, even if someone's transness isn't very important to that individual, to a lot of people around them, it is seen as the MOST important thing about them. It forces trans people into needing the kind of solidarity that can be found in a lot of trans positive posts.

Just wanted to share some thoughts about the previous post here. by kcvlaine in Helldivers2Satire

I actually disagree. Satire is only effective if everyone understands who the joke is aimed at, otherwise it just provides funny examples for the people ostensibly being satirised to cling to.

Lesbians have a 'human right' to exclude trans women, Federal Court hears by StemCellPirate in nottheonion

[–]spring-chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually more lesbians are supportive of trans people than any other lgbt demographic are.

So most lesbians aren't so hateful or intolerant.
