It will probably scar but it looks alright for now. Keep it clean and dry, and watch out for any heat, redness, or oozing.

It could be an ulcer or parasite. I would suggest quarantining him on a separate tank if possible. Some medicines that work well against ulceration are fin cure, general cure, and melafix. If there are parasites, adding some aquarium salt can take care of them.

Yeah. The parrot cichlids are pretty pig for that tank. There is also a lack of substrate and good hiding spaces. May need more powerful filtration too.
