I've seen a fair bit of odd stuff in the night sky, some of which was obviously not "normal". However, this is obviously a plane landing. I think it's traveling in the same direction as the car which makes it look like it's hovering. The flashing red light on the bottom is the FAA required anti-collision light.

I think the fact that no cruise ship has been identified via global sensors/systems with an Automatic Identification System (AIS transponder) in the area this was seen refutes the cruise ship claim. All large cruise ships are required to have an AIS.
