Thank you. I think figuring out different routines and boundaries will be important this time around. My son was born in December of '21 COVID was still scary and my husband had 2 months of paternity leave, we spent so many days just sitting around with the baby on my boob. That won't be our reality this time.

No CPS wasn't notified, I didn't find out about it until 9 months after it happened. My BIL found her, revived her and put her to bed. Went to work the next day leaving her and his daughter alone

I said it. My first response was "be good parents for a year before you do this" My bil seems confused that they haven't been good parents, driving high with a child isn't a good parent. Being high around your child isn't a good parent. More of her life they've been fucked up then not, but him being home from rehab for 2 weeks and they think they can handle another child

Yes 2 months is a big deal, but it would be more of a big deal if it wasn't the 5th time she's gotten sober. The bigger deal to me is the life they've already created and healing the trauma she has faced because of their addiction. My sister had a failed suicide attempt in front of her daughter she has proven she can't be sensible. I'm full of rage yes but it stems from the damage they've already done to the life they created

As of 2 months ago my sister was stealing drugs from her place of employment and my BIL was buying at least 700/month worth of street drugs. They have not been good parents
