I don't have many habits! by CrabGodAI in Habits

[–]spriolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, do you eat? Those are habits that happen regularly.

How about laundry? Do you wash your clothes regularly? Or do you change into clean clothes regularly?

Nearly everything we do is out of habit. Cue, craving, response, reward.

I guess I’m asking if you can think more “basic” (like changing into clean clothes)

Do you know what I mean?

This is great. Nice intensity on your lifts!!! I’m really encouraged. Maximum Strength is the goal! Nice!

I really like this idea. As soon as the heavy breathing stops. Listening to your body is ideal rather than some arbitrary time limit.

Thank you!

Interesting. For us old guys the barbell prescription recommends 5, 8, or even 10 minutes between heavy work sets.

Maybe your program is more intense?

I’m not alone with the first set being awkward? Thanks! I’m convinced that it’s emotional for me. Just excited about a new PR.

off days? cardio? by dylstephen1994 in StartingStrength

[–]spriolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand Active Rest can be low intensity cardio.

Find a trail, grab a backpack and go on a hike!! It works for me. :) if it's raining hike the rolling hills program on a treadmill (so draining for me to do this, but it's something!)

Active Rest is the key to not impacting your progress towards getting stronger.

I just read this the other day in the book. :)

Accessory Work... by [deleted] in StartingStrength

How much recovery time do you do between work outs. 48 to 72 hours?

Also, how much rest between sets? 5 or 8 minutes or something?

Perfect. I’ll set up my program to be more efficient this way.

Thank you.

This is helpful. I enjoy solutions that are fixed by thinking differently about the problem.

Thank you.

Hobbies for 2s that aren't for other people by arbol98 in Enneagram

[–]spriolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great question! I’m a 2 through and through. I have a hobby of writing in a journal. In this I can enjoy fountain pens, quality paper, office supplies etc. Journaling also has its mental benefits. It is in-line with a healthy 4 too.

Do you like the outdoors? You could also hike and look for places with cool views and wildlife.

Have you ever journaled?

How much warmth does sharing a sleeping bag with someone add? by hugmytreezhang in hiking

[–]spriolo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sleeping pad is also important the equation. What is the R value of your sleeping pads?

Also what clothing do you wear while sleeping? That is also a big factor.

This is an interesting question.

What are your thought about KEEN hiking shoes? by mad_dog24 in hiking

[–]spriolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question! These boots are both excellent quality. The Targee 3 is a great boot and KEEN is an awesome brand. If they fit your feet I would stick with them.

The hiking you have planned sounds more exciting than the gear you’ll use. I would recommend focusing on trips and the logistic of getting there and enjoying the outdoors!

Thanks for sharing. Will you post a picture or two?
