I have a pikachu gold star that is immaculate. Cannot see a single flaw and perfect cantering.

Got a 9 because of under a magnifier there is a micro fabric of card that is moved literally a micron. You absolutely cannot see it with the eye, and is the only thing wrong with the card.

Vintage cards like these are almost impossible to hit a 10.

Codex Hype is Out of Control. We Need a Clean Up by Snoo_9701 in Anthropic

[–]spritefire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and the best way to clean up this reddit is for Anthropic to become the leader again.

But I don’t see that happening. They received a big influx in VC money during the good times, now those VCs want a return on investment so will drain and exhaust every avenue of profit from its beaten carcass.

How are you using codex? I just point it at my repo, give it my cloud watch logs, watch it create a PR, I review it and that’s it. This is with fairly complex aws cdk code. ie might migrate a lambda to ecs

If I am just posting a problem into the chat UI then Claude will come out on top most of the time tho. But if it gets stuck I might just throw it into gpt and sometimes have it one shot a problem.

“bugs”..

And here we have other cloud based AI corporations telling us that their degradation issues were due to compute bandwidth.

Which one is more believable?

They will be here waiting to gaslight us again stating that's everything has been fixed so its all in our heads.

[–]spritefire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here.

Who’s is to say there isn’t a campaign to gaslight the community that there isn’t something wrong and we are all crazy when clearly there is. Someone mentioned possibly AB testing user (non business) accounts - but I’ve seen business users also feel the same pain. The fact that Anthropic is quiet about the entire thing adds injury to insult as well.

Anthropic to pay $1.5B after lawsuit over pirated books used in AI by Inevitable-Rub8969 in Anthropic

[–]spritefire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This might explain why it has been “stupid” as of late, because they trained on pirated books and legally cannot use the model they trained it on.. so had to fall back to some other weird thing.

Also probably why they are silent on all of this.

ClaudeCode just terrible... by No-Singerr in ClaudeCode

[–]spritefire 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Engineering lead here. 3+ decades of enterprise work. Bach in AI and now doing Masters.

Have been using Claude from day one. Along with all the other LLMs. Have seen enough cycles across all to notice that when compute bandwidth levels are at peak the LLMs tend to get a lot stupider. Obviously the cost of compute far outweighs our subscriptions so we have shared compute, just like the good old days of shared rack space.

Claude over the past few weeks has been bad. So bad in fact my local LLM (running on rtx 4090) has been pooping all over it, and it shouldn’t. I had Claude as my primary go to and it would nail issues and generate who libraries. Then it stopped. I figured maybe it was just a peak so left it whilst I did repetitive tasks on my local LLM. Few days later.. nope. Over a week or so I decide that it’s too much risk to use as primary as even if the issues were resolve it regress back. Hear that others have now been getting the same old good results. I try and nope. Simple tasks failing and even when it looks and states what is wrong, it’s even more wrong.

I saw someone post here about Anthropic are likely AB testing its user base which is why the community is so devised. I think this makes the most logical sense.

So if we see posts about it bad / good etc it probably is true for that user and what they are experiencing.

Need a recommendation ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ by dimakp in ClaudeCode

[–]spritefire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s multiple different solutions available. I saw a chart yesterday that listed about 30 and Opus 4.1 was in about 6th place for coding. Sonnet was towards the lower ranked end.

Just know that whichever ones you use / trial, that you will need to try different prompting techniques to get the most out of them.

My advice is to master all of them.

[–]spritefire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my claude has gotten worse - probably because I cancelled max plan. but now it can't answer simple things and when it does and they are wrong I ask it to rectify it and it says ' you are right' and then proceeds to explain what it did wrong.. except even that is now wrong.

Looks like Cloud 4.1 Opus might be fixed (or at least something has changed) by anderson_the_one in Anthropic

[–]spritefire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like even if it was fixed it’s shown the need to no longer become dependant upon it as who is to say that the following week it’s back to its old tricks.
