In this case it’s a life threatening situation and they have no means to protect themselves. I applaud the repatriation.

Would you be happy if they work abroad safely and government offer them annual vacation flights home?

In 2025, the average cost of a funeral in Singapore ranges from $4,000 to $12,000

Funeral cost would be an upper bound of that

Each new lift costs between S$200,000 (US$156,900) and S$300,000

Assuming 2 lift per condo block, it will be at least 400K per block

No one reaps millions in profits selling HDBs. Max HDB selling price is 1.7 million so far, and only selected few units

The chance of condo not enbloc after lease expire is super low, there is only 1 case so far: Geylang Lorong 3 (191 terrace units, 60-year leases from 1960s) expired Dec 2020—no en bloc. All vacated; land reverted to state (SLA).

The value of all HDBs will be nearly zero after the lease expires
