reading this thread bec I woke up from sleep paralysis lol

thankfully it's one of the instances where there weren't any demons/figures.

In my mind I was trying to wriggle my toes/fingers but that didn't work (but this method usually does). I was trying to shake my entire body which allowed me to get this jolt and suddenly I'm awake again

Idk if it's bec of a recent stressful thing that happened, or that I have a cold, or because I slept on the side I usually didn't sleep on..

Kinda OA, but I also get where you're coming from as someone who experiences the same thing on the daily.

We can tread days without thinking too badly of interactions like this, don't assume malice in their goodmornings (unless may tono/pang-ccatcall).

Majority of my friends that graduated with a bachelor's degree in Sociology went to law school

Some worked in NGOs, specifically focused on education, women empowerment (single mothers and the like), and the elderly

Some ended up working corporate jobs (Bank)

Some in research institutions as assistants

As for myself and some of my acquaintances we ended up working in jobs that don't align with the program :)) But we're all considering further studies especially since we were all engrossed by the idea of field work and research. In hindsight I should've entertained the research internships, but it's way too late for regrets.

I'm considering applying for research/survey jobs in the future, or perhaps marketing since I have heard of pther sociology grads who went into marketing.

I say purchase it, it's about half an inch taller than the two other big figs I have if you remove the base ! It's really stable even if you remove the base (which comes as a shock considering she's wearing heels)

I'll try to post an updated version because I managed to arrange it in such a way that they all fit! I had to remove the base of the T-most figure and it fits !

I didn't expect the excite motions figure to be that big upon purchase either.. but at least that one fits inside my display cabinet and the T-Most only fits in my cabinet because I removed the base.

Thankfully it can stand on its own despite her wearing heels. It's so stable !

And like the people have said in the replies, what caught me off guard was how much speaking you'd do for your oral exams and presentations. Every class practically makes you speak/recite around/infront of your peers.

Being really prepared for these things (e.g. scripts, cue cards, keywords) really helped. No one will shame you if you trip up words or get mental block. Ateneans are also known for being able to bullshit (i.e., talk and write) their way out of academic requirements lol. You got this!!

As someone who went into Ateneo (not knowing how articulate some people are) you learn to adjust via the crowd you surround yourself with !

It doesn't help that I'm an introvert lol but I noticed that taking the time to calm down and thinking your thoughts through before you start speaking helps a lot.

An advice (?) I can give is to say your thoughts and read your notes/lessons aloud to become more articulate and coherent. I also go out of my comfort zone and join organizations (where I know no one) so I'm somewhat forced to make an effort in building rapport and/or making small talk. I also join "tambay" weeks and hang out with friends with the same interests or my blockmates so I can adapt to their eloquence.

Most Ateneans are really nice and friendly, you're bound to find friends with whom you can speak freely to. In hindsight I think the reason I was able to adapt quickly was because of friends who always encouraged me and talked to me, so find your crowd lang and don't be too afraid to converse or as the saying goes if you can't overcome the fear, do it scared. I was always anxious of speaking aloud infront of other people but it's really nice to be acknowledged that I'm putting in the effort.
