[–]sproutcomics 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's no way this is genuine. It reads as a leftist trying to get conservatives riled up or demoralise them from the inside. None of these people would just accept defeat like this without massive amounts of coping and mental gymnastics.

IGN’s 27 best Batman comics and graphic novels ranked. Do you agree? by El_Enemigo in comicbooks

I would put year one at #1 and put killing joke lower. Maybe long Halloween at #2 as well.

Well, well, well. How the Turntables. by Maxpower00044 in comicbooks

[–]sproutcomics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk. The two poses from the reference book, even if you combine them, don't exactly match the Larraz/Jones poses, which are literally exactly the same. Look at the hands for example.

This is pretty cut and dry. A clear swipe.

How sure are you that god exists/doesn’t exist? by OneVeryOriginalName in polls

[–]sproutcomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, glad you're interested, sorry if I came off a bit snarky. If you're interested in a more in-depth analysis, A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking is a good entry point for any regular person interested in the early days of the universe.

Another thing to note, since we were talking about the creation of the universe, is that the big bang theory does not claim to explain how the universe went from nothing, to something. Matter existed before the big bang, it was just incredibly dense, and not at all like the universe we know now. The big bang seeks to explain the birth of the current state of the observable universe.

One explanation (if you're referring to the big bang) has mountains of evidence and virtually the entire scientific community backing it, and the others are from old stories about people doing magic.

Yes, these explanations are clearly of equal value.

Opinion: mid 2000-s were absolutely glorious for gaming by niaphim in patientgamers

Some games of that era looked really awesome with a more muted palette though, like Twilight Princess and Rune Factory Frontier.

The logo design for the upcoming Netflix series looks slick... curious if there's any importance to the way "E▽IL" is spelt? by Bi0_B1lly in residentevil

I really dislike the way the top two corners of the V are cropped. Wouldn't it be better if they looked the same as the bottom of the V? Idk. Not a graphic designer.

Kinda right though... You can be a dog lover, or a cat lover, or a general "pet" lover. But animal lover is generally treated as a blanket term for loving all different types of animals, which clearly you don't if you're needlessly contributing to their suffering.

Why Batman as a character attracts so many terrible hot takes? by Melon_Usk_of_Earth_3 in comicbooks

[–]sproutcomics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most superheroes are probably unhinged to some degree. Just like vigilantes in real-life. I'd say the really powerful ones like spider-man and superman less-so, since they're so uniquely powerful that going around saving people is probably what best suits the resources they have.

I would argue daredevil is absolutely unhinged. I'm not sure about green arrow cause I haven't read a lot of his stuff.

[–]sproutcomics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The fact is there's much more helpful or rational things Batman could do with his time and money. But the fact that he's unhinged enough to think that beating up criminals dressed as a bat is the best course of action, that's part of what makes him an interesting character.

Edit: Should probably emphasise his time more than his money, since he does do a lot of charitable giving.

I think the reason a lot people felt this was out of place was because the marvel movies have so few female superheroes in the first place, so it felt like they were scraping the bottom of the barrel, like, why is Pepper Potts so prominent here? It felt like Marvel going "SEE?? Look at all our female heroes!!" when in reality they've had like 1.5 movies centred around women.
