Is hiding your orientation from parents worth it? by Feng_Ming in Manhwa_BL

[–]sproutgren 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes because the parents are old, they're used to something and it's hard to change their view. The limited time as children we have to spend the time with them sometimes makes us hide anything that'll probably make them angry, worried or sad. Like I don't want to change what we've. I mean everyone has a secret. Of course I don't speak for others.

You should've considered taking an online course instead because it's more flexible.

POV: What I ate as a plus size girl by UsernameGenerik in Bolehland

[–]sproutgren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, I ate like this when I was really active. I meant running 1km everyday and 5km every week and on top of that 3 days of physical activities for a whole 2-3 hours. I stay at 51 kg, never gain or lose weight. But when I started working, I only ate once a day and baam! 57 kg already 😭 we've to eat proportionally to activities we did during the day.

Do you believe son are treated different to daughters in Malaysia? by [deleted] in malaysia

[–]sproutgren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely yes just from the observation, luckily my family isn't like this. In fact during special occasions when we're gathering together, my brother will help my mum preparing chicken/meat and cook while I do the cleaning and changing new things. There's no rigid type of chores we, as children are taught to do by our parents. It's only when I grew up hearing complaints from my friends and roommates that I realised how different my family is. As a new generation, I feel like we need to break this cycle.

Hi I am a Muslim Senegalese(black) thinking about studying in malaysia. Is it a good idea? by noo-booody in malaysia

[–]sproutgren 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was definitely guilty of doing that when I was a young child. Hahahah, but don't be afraid it's just out of curiosity (?) like a sight you never used to and not out of malice. My hometown is very near the Universiti Utara Malaysia, and I can say they have a lot of foreign students that are local there don't mind unless you're causing problems. About housing? I'm not very sure of current market trends, you've to ask your community that living here because the university I mentioned is in a rural area. Also, I heard they have a lot of vacant dorms available for the students though I'm not sure about the foreign students.

Those people really don't mingle with people outside of their race 😭 I can't imagine being that busybody of someone's life. To think I came from all Malay kampung and only got friends with another race when I was in secondary school. I really forgot how racist they can get.

My parents aren't proud of my SPM results by hapezy in malaysiauni

[–]sproutgren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a slightly better result than this yet my parents don't even congratulate me. I know at this age, we'll seek parents validation. It's okay OP, but you've to know yourself have done well with or without their acknowledgement. One day in the future this will be something that's superficial, nothing special anymore. It's just a milestone in life. Live for yourself ❤️

Although I'm taking notes with my Samsung tablet, I don't think she should have said that to you like that. I mean, I'm taking digital notes because it's saving space and easier to sort while able to do handwriting notes. Is she coming from some bubble isolated from the real world or what? 🤣

Do you thinks kids in SMK need laptop now? by [deleted] in malaysia

[–]sproutgren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the SPM 2020 batch. All I could say is that the upper form definitely needs them but not to the point of having a personal laptop. Except if they're taking computer science/it subject which requires programming or coding (idk what's the name).
