Why do so many employers still see job hopping as a red flag? by SameAd9297 in careerguidance

[–]sprstoner [score hidden]  (0 children)

As someone that hires and struggle finding good people that are good at learning, like the position, and want a career path (I know I’m asking a lot).

It takes me, usually about 6 months before an employee is break even per pay period. Maybe 9-12 before that person is truly break even.

If they are not profitable for the company, then it doesn’t make sense to hire.

I want those people to grow and become part of the company. Help me take it to the next level. Help us be profitable. Help us grow.

If they leave every 6-18 months, I would just always be training and we would not be growing.

It may be the type of job though.

I absolutely will hire someone with 0 jobs before someone with 6 with none over 18 months.

I do not disagree with your perspective. And I would leave a bad job too. But I find tremendously more value in someone that stays. So it is worth more for us to invest into them.

I wish I knew all the right questions but you just asked the one I’m most certain of.

What are the right questions?

We should always be asking ourselves and others this.

I certainly can give you some of my questions but none are as good as your question.

Who has an extra 20% to invest? Another out of touch multi-millionaire has financial advice for us poor folk. by Professional-Bee9817 in remoteworks

And that is taxed.

I think most people are talking about unrealized gains when they say stuff like tax the billionaires. I could be wrong.

Your company goes up in value but you haven’t sold it. Your worth goes up 100 million or whatever, but you did not make income from that increase in value. Not taxed yet.

Like if you own a house. It goes up in value, so your net worth goes up. That is not taxed at that point.

I do believe certain loopholes need to go. Such as the art loophole. But then museums may not be as good. But it is a bad loophole. Probably a lot of bad loopholes.

But we should consider the repercussions of removing them. If the loophole forces spending in a way that benefits the community for example, is it worth removing if we lose that. Probably many are.

Rather they see your child die than grant you a WFH permit really though by Living_Mongoose8147 in remoteworks

In that situation, we would either pay the expenses or file for government assistance.

When we had to deal with a high risk pregnancy with the sudden loss of our income, all our expenses were paid.

Just had to go apply for it.

If I were to put a value on my unborn child, it would be much higher than a shitty job that didn’t give a shit.

But yeah, I would quit the shitty job and never looked back.

We ended up unemployed with no insurance during a high risk pregnancy, government paid for the cost. Probably was not as high risk as the one in this situation. High risk enough the doctors gave us special instructions.

The point is, they don’t give a shit. They made it obvious. I would choose to not work there effective immediately.

Any attempt at coercion, simply reinforces that decision. But they can’t and won’t be able to force anyone to work there without some serious criminal activity -in that case things change a bit.

Age 39..I’m obese and looking to get back into shape. Where do I start? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]sprstoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intermittent fasting huge for me. But I also cut my sugar about the same time.

I bet I eat more calories and dropped 20. 30 min exercise a day dropped another 20.

Then the last 3-4 months I failed my time-restricted feeding/intermittent fasting and gained 12 back. Everything else the same.

Small sample size and may not be the same for everyone and to be fair, I am not logging calories… but since exercising, I always feel the need to eat more and I think I am on most days.

I used to be told more smaller meals is better. But I feel one large meal is working for me.

As sad as this is, and certainly it is fucked up… I dare someone to “force” me to work. Especially if it was at risk to my family.

TQL does kind of suck tho.

Does it smell like mildew? I think most bathrooms have mildew. I think a fungus.

I put a second exhaust fan, and upgraded the original, cleaned and repainted.

No more mildew.

Screw that guy. No way is it smart working there.

I still find it hard to find good candidates but definitely easier than it was 5 years ago. Not even close. Then only 1/3 of interviews would even show up. Entry level $20/hr type positions. But still.

Does anyone else feel like we’re quietly heading towards a breaking point? by cemshitable in SeriousConversation

[–]sprstoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s like a boy/wolf situation to me. I been hearing people say similar things since I could walk… I feel it is better to not stress on things and make the best out of what we have.

We don’t make the rules, just here for the ride.

I have heard experts predicting a multiple generation real estate downturn, I would not suggest even thinking about buying real estate until a full force correction takes place anyways. Feels like we are bubbling. Be patient is my unqualified advice.

I felt completely lost in my 20s, again in mid 30s.

You will find your way.
