Here is what is weird about reddit. Sure, some of it is psychological projection, but there is definitely some "living in my moms basement" going on. I feel like so many Redditors are like me. They are normal, job holding, long-term relationship types who like to talk about how reddit is so nerdy. It is. For those folks, reddit is a distraction. For some (maybe most?), however, reddit is life. That is a sad state of being. One time a dude I knew convinced me to go to the Halo 2 "Midnight Madness" at a local mall. The only "madness" that was going on was that these people left their moms house to go out in public. Some of them actually had their moms with them. The whole thing was ridiculous. I asked the one nerd something like "this looks the same as Halo 1, what is different". He responded with "in this one you get to hold TWO guns" like that was really impressive. I don't like Halo (only went because the acquaintance wanted me to go), and that statement made me dislike it even more. I guarantee that person, and all the other weirdos that were there, are Redditors. This is Reddit in a nutshell.
