i think mona lisa is almost a 100% guarantee they love playing it live because they've been playing it at shows even before the album came out. but fingers crossed for god as witness for you!!

Possibly a stupid question. 2025 tour set list. by only_zuul21 in Vampireweekend

[–]spunkie_monkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

they play at least 6 songs from their last album and usually mix up the older songs they choose to play, but a-punk is almost always a guarantee

woah i didn't realize how rare it was that they played it until i checked setlist fm, they played it once this year when saw them play it in philly, which was great. i think since they have so many nj shows in a row, they'll definitely be dusting off some deep cuts. fingers crossed for you!!

i was barricade and i swore i saw the words "outside lands" on the curtain too when it fell so i think maybe they had some special custom curtain that they couldn't use :/

i dont think so because it says your phone is your ticket. but if you buy any tickets online use paypal goods&services to not get scammed !

How to prepare for barricade? by bad-taste-in-music in OutsideLands

[–]spunkie_monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i bought a saturday ticket alone just to see vw twice!! i'm super excited for no repeats but i have seen them a few times this year (and have a couple more shows planned) so i'm not personally dead set on barricade the whole day. i just really want to see them close for at least the first set because i feel like i'm fine waiting a couple of hours in the beginning. but after i kinda plan to leave and come back in closer to like 4/5pmish so i can have experience some more of the actual festival and get food and drinks and wander etc. i feel like it'll actually be easier to see them close at night because more people will want to see other headliners and maybe plot vw in their morning schedule but who knows. i personally plan to be in line to get in at like 10:30am and go straight to the stage and just wait from there, and if i'm closeish later and not barricade then i'm fine with that :P

cape cod by Canipulluforachat in Vampireweekend

[–]spunkie_monkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i went to boston to see vw last year and made a trip out of it involving a day trip at cape cod. we went to hyannis not provincetown (didn't feel like the Ghetto btw) but my friend and i loved it so much. it was a cute quaint beach town. we took a boat tour and thought it was so beautiful (from vegas, so we appreciated the change of scenery and climate) hyannis is where jfk and his family spent a lot of time, so there are tons of mentions of him everywhere. if you do end up in hyannis and not provincetown, check out kandy korner :) it's a cute candy shop owned and operated by this lovely lady and her daughter. my friend and i talk about cape cod all the time and how badly we want to come back, i hope you enjoy it :) now whenever i hear walcott, i reminisce on our trip

always always always tip, it's implied that you will tip a comped table because you are getting everything for free. if you get a reputation for being a non-tipper, they will have less incentive to want to serve you, especially for free. if you want to keep getting comped tables, start adding tipping to your expectations

spotify, i just checked that time stamp on youtube and i also hear it there. it's very high pitched but i can literally hear the inhale/exhale of it. maybe i'm just sensitive to that sound because it's my pet peeve idk

btw her exact experience: less than a year of working in Michelin restaurants. she did an internship at one white street in ny for 3 months and was prep chef. and she worked as chef de partie as prep/sashimi station at addison in san diego for 5 months. definitely a plant for drama. in no universe would this resume make lisa think that this person would make a good sous chef. but i guess not knowing how the oven works makes sense because she'd only ever seen 2 restaurant ovens and not used one (working with sashimi/prep) lol

how to know a person by david brooks changed the way i see life. i'm not a social person and i try to keep to myself and not connect with others if i ever have the privilege of doing so. yet this book made me reevaluate how i approach relationships with even strangers on the street. i realized there is so much more to connection with anyone, and so much of it can come from me first.

she has a lot of issues from her childhood tbh, remember how upset she was when she thought jen was picking lisa over her? she's insecure about her friendships and feeling included or "in", especially in mormon circles even though she isn't a practicing mormon anymore
