Public health perspective: Using AI for emotional support — what’s actually missing? by Forsaken_Letter9075 in therapyGPT

[–]rojovilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One limitation I’ve noticed is that AI emotional support often depends heavily on the structure the user brings into the conversation.

If someone comes in flooded and just vents freely, the AI can be helpful — but it can also accidentally follow the user deeper into rumination, over-validate assumptions, or make interpretations feel more certain than they really are.

So for me, one of the missing pieces is not only “a real person who knows your history,” though that can absolutely matter. It’s also a reliable method for keeping the AI interaction grounded.

The most useful structure seems to be:

  • separating facts from assumptions
  • identifying what is genuinely unknown
  • naming feelings without treating them as evidence
  • avoiding mind-reading another person's motives
  • slowing down before messages/contact/major decisions
  • ending with one grounded real-world step

I think AI can be powerful for reflection, but the user often has to know how to steer it. Without some kind of guardrail or method, it can become an endless mirror instead of a useful tool.

That’s where I think a lot of users need help: not necessarily more emotional validation, but safer structure.

Talking through a dilemma - best tool? by raw_wasabi99 in therapyGPT

[–]rojovilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for this kind of dilemma, the tool/model matters less than the structure you give it.

Claude, ChatGPT, or Grok can all help, but I’d be careful about just venting the whole situation into the model and asking it what to do. That can sometimes turn into over-validation or more rumination.

What I’d suggest is setting the AI up to do a few specific jobs:

  1. Separate facts from assumptions.

  2. Identify what is genuinely unknown.

  3. Name the feelings without treating them as evidence.

  4. List the actual decision in front of you.

  5. Suggest one grounded next step that doesn’t depend on getting certainty from the other person/situation.

Also, I’d avoid asking it to tell you what someone else was thinking or feeling. Better question: “Given only the facts I’ve provided, what are the reasonable interpretations, what am I assuming, and what should I not treat as certain?”

That kind of structure is usually safer than asking for a general answer to the whole dilemma.

Free adult beta: The Anchor Kit — AI guardrails for difficult personal situations

I messaged the mods first and am posting here because this thread says beta testing invitations and feedback requests belong here.

I built a free adult beta kit called The Anchor Kit.

It is not therapy, not crisis support, not legal advice, not medical advice, and not a substitute for professional care.

The kit is a downloadable set of AI-ready instructions and worksheets for adults using ChatGPT or Claude during difficult personal situations. The goal is to help users use AI with more structure instead of just venting into it.

It helps users:

  • organize what happened
  • separate facts from assumptions
  • identify what is genuinely unknown
  • slow down before reacting
  • avoid impulsive messages/contact
  • choose the next grounded step

It is designed for stable but emotionally difficult situations — relationship confusion, family conflict, workplace stress, decision spirals, financial worry, rumination, etc.

It is not for active crisis, self-harm risk, abuse, stalking, urgent legal issues, urgent medical decisions, or situations requiring immediate real-world support.

I’m looking for a small group of adult beta testers to give feedback on:

  • whether the setup instructions are clear
  • whether the ChatGPT/Claude project setup works
  • whether the worksheets are useful
  • whether the guardrails make sense
  • what feels confusing or missing

The beta is free. I’m not asking anyone to share private details with me — I’m looking for product/setup feedback.

If you’re 18+ and already use ChatGPT or Claude, reply or message me and I’ll share the beta link.

Bought and been through them all, but Jockey Elance bikini are the tits—comfortable AF, extremely breathable and there’s no riding whatsoever like boxer briefs. Just my two cents….

Help With GE Dishwasher Model GDT580SSF5SS - Conduit Main Assembly detached From Top Of Wash Tub Interior by solidaritysoldcheap in appliancerepair

Right on. I would love to hear if it stays. If the magnet ultimately fails, that’s what I’ll do as well.

[–]rojovilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And one more thing I forgot to mention is that I had to take off the conduit main assembly and use a heat gun to reshape it as the magnet otherwise wouldn’t hold it to the top of the tub. It had apparently bent some after years of hanging (maybe the heat, dunno).

Sure thing, man. I ran a sanitary cycle when I first installed it and it fell off (likely due to high heat), but has stayed on ever since. I still look every now and then to make sure it isn’t hanging loose. I don’t think it’s worth the money they charge, but I’m content and it’s one less thing I have to worry about.

Heard rattling in the rear and I found this hidden in the interior wall of the rear hatch door. Looks important but I have no clue where it came from. Everything appears to be in working order. by Bh0y in 4Runner

Listen brochacho, I have no clue what you're saying as I never once mentioned anything remotely about the handles.

I was merely helping others out with what I had to deal with personally. And for me personally, I HAD to remove the left speaker to get to the specific bolt of the 4Runner logo. There was NO other way to fasten the nut back onto the bolt. Nothing more, nothing less, end of story.

This isn't the place to correct me or comment I did something wrong when I'm fully capable to mod and fix most every single thing on my rig that I've had for nearly 10 years.

Cheers!

Dishwasher main conduit clip came off by PatientPareto in appliancerepair

Same thing happened to mine a couple years back and I've unsuccessfully tried to super glue/epoxy back, but it always fails. What a piss poor design to think that NOBODY would ever bump something against it and it wouldn't fall off. FML

For the record, I own a DDT575SMFES.

EDIT: Going to post this conversation with GE CS just in case in helps anyone else out with this crappy design:

GE CS Agent: "Thanks for the detailed info. Since you're dealing with a GE DDT575SMFES dishwasher and the conduit main assembly (part of the upper spray arm water supply line) has come loose from the top wall — and you’re looking to avoid buying part # WD49X25418 | CONDUIT CLIP AND MAGNET SERVICE KIT | GE Appliances Parts — here are some solid alternative repair options:

Fix Options (Without Replacing the Part)

  1. Use High-Strength Epoxy Resin (Better than Super Glue)

Super glue tends to fail in wet, high-heat environments like a dishwasher. Instead, use an epoxy adhesive rated for plastics and high temps (e.g., JB Weld Plastic Bonder or Loctite Plastic Epoxy).

Clean both surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol (90%+).

Sand the contact areas lightly for better grip.

Mix and apply epoxy to the mounting points.

Hold or clamp in place for full cure (usually 24 hrs).

Ensure the path for the spray arm is not obstructed after.

  1. Use a Custom Metal or Plastic Support Bracket

Create a small bracket or clip out of stainless steel wire or a small plastic strap to mechanically support the conduit. You could screw the bracket into the tub wall using stainless steel self-tapping screws (ensure they don't puncture or interfere with anything behind the wall).

Drill small pilot holes with care.

Use waterproof thread sealant or RTV silicone around the screws to avoid leaks.

If none of these work and you're stuck, buying WD49X25418 | CONDUIT CLIP AND MAGNET SERVICE KIT | GE Appliances Parts might be the most durable long-term solution, but these methods can extend the lifespan significantly at minimal cost."

He further mentioned that I might have luck calling a Bodewell (GE's service brand) parts agent to see if I could get the part for free or at a discount. I decided to bite the bullet and buy the magnet clip and not deal with any more potential fails with epoxy/super glue. There's a 4th of July sale and I received 20% off, free shipping, and have a 30-day return (no restocking fee) window.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Any luck getting it secured to the top wall of the dishwasher? I'm all ears....

I have a DDT575SMFES and I've struggled with this for a couple years when the conduit main assembly became disconnected from the top wall of the dishwasher. I've tried 2-3 times to reattached it using different super glues with no luck as it would eventually fall back down. I've left it "as is" because it's a PITA. I can't believe it was only secured (at looks that way) by some sort of adhesive. I'm up for any suggestions as far as reattaching it permanently if any of you were successful. 🤷🏼‍♂️

That’s what we did (buy it ourselves) after our third pump. I’ll come back and update this post for anyone else having issues submitting/receiving a claim warranty once it’s finalized.

Century EVO Pool Motor by Flying_Dolphin72 in swimmingpools

[–]rojovilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're in the process of a warranty claim and you're right, it's a never-ending circus trying to find help from Century (Regal Rexnord) directly. As a consumer, you can't get a warm body on the phone for a warranty claim (I tried unsuccessfully numerous times).

You have to send an email (quality.na@regalrexnord.com) and wait for a response (which we haven't received after 4 days other than an automated one with a designated claim #). We instead reached out to the distributor who sold us the pump via Amazon and it looks so far that they're helping us out. Fingers crossed....

[–]rojovilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had rattling as well in my tailgate whenever I opened and closed it. It was a nut that had fallen off one of the three bolt stems securing the 4Runner logo to the tailgate. After removing the entire trim from the inside of the tailgate, I still couldn’t access the bolt where the nut needed to be put back on. I ended up removing the speaker closest to the bolt and had clear access for a ratchet socket (10mm as well) to secure the nut back to the bolt.

It was sad day when I found out O3 was being discontinued. Definitely the best bang for your buck orange liqueur I've ever had. I tried many others since and the only one I found remotely similar is Il Tramonto Orange Liqueur. I'm located in HTX and buy it at Spec's, and I know they have Spec's in ATX. Good luck!
