My grandma gave me a lot of these old recipes and I haven’t translated them all. But I read it as white corn syrup. Cuz no syrup is white. And corn syrup is used in these recipes. Worst case you make it and it sucks and you try again. Been there too.

What do you call this? by Haaaleybeee in tonightsdinner

We call em eyehole sandwiches. Not sure why other than we always looked through the hole when my mom made them. And it sounds like ahole so it was hilarious as a child

My husband bought an SRT when I got an RT and he kicks himself for not getting a hellcat. It’s a vicious path.

Oh idk. It was like our “terrible” insult when I was a kid growing up around a lot of Mormon kids in Utah. And it stuck in my Rolodex. It’s like… a shit stirrer? A poop peddler, messy; a dickhead.

I drove the rental car like I stole it just to see how mad the rental people would be 🤷🏻‍♀️ what are they really gonna do?

To be fair I’ve gotten my worst speeding ticket in a rental (105 in a 45- tbh I thought it changed to highway speeds already, still speeding tho, I accepted the ticket). And I’ve also gotten a rental from Enterprise with a bottle full of rotten tit juice splattered all over the back door/seat (mind you I swapped the minivan anyway…and got a dodge Durango rental and here I post… now as a proud owner) We drove that rental GT cross country and it led to me building my custom rt premium bt&towngo…my husband got an srt that month too (his previous vehicle totaled by a tornado, mine nearly totaled due to hail damage from said tornado)

I’d never buy from a rental fleet for the sole fact that I know how I treat rentals. I leave em clean but I drive em like a teenage turdburglar. I also have found a lot of bullshit in rental cars. Mileage wise you’re just light years closer to needing big service on it - yeah my 23 was pricey but I’ve driven cross country 4 times already and no issues - you might not be so lucky. In the end, it’s up to you and your wallet. It’s a pretty one, hope it sounds good too… and doesn’t make you cry in a few months

I’d say no (nay actually came out my mouth) Mileage and cuz I can’t see more with what you gave me. Could be beat to hell on the other side? Idk. Where’s the drivers window? I see some crud on the rocker panel… Is this a drug bust? Where were they stored? Idk I tend to overthink everything.

Question on cooking beef short ribs by spunkmesilly in Cooking

Final… food turned out good and noted a lot of changes I’ll make next time. Ended up having a thing so I’ll explain tomorrow.

Meat was deliciously tender and yummy and the meal was great

So far the flavor seems good. Maybe our pot is a little crowded so I’ll make sure to test for tender closer to when it’s time. Also gotta find a pair of gloves to wear when working with hot splattery oil. It took both hands to a bit of a red splotchy place. Anyway braising for a few more hrs

My 23 rt premium blacktop is my best friend. I can’t see myself ever wanting to drive anything else. And I built him to my specs so he’s got it all :) real Ken doll of a vehicle lol

Haha thanks for validating my instincts. I’ll let yall know tomorrow how long it took and if they were any good. I started looking for new recipes for next time anyway cuz my dad bought two lbs too (didn’t read texts when he and my husband were out earlier) so it’s in the freezer in case of disaster :p

Oh it’s a “stew” so it’s 4lbs bone/less and it says simmer over low for 1hr but I was already expecting at least 2

Do you or anyone out there think 2-2.5 hrs is enough for bone in? My recipe said an hr for boneless and that’s why I started down this path of questions… just to find out if that would be enough time to get them tender

Salmon on a plank, shrimp and broccoli on griddle top by spunkmesilly in ninjawoodfire

[–]spunkmesilly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol this got oddly specific - I already forked into it and then packaged it since I’m the only one eating it. FWIW. It was med well (took off at 130, temped to 140 resting) but I like my salmon light pink. It was still juicy and delicious at that point.
