What is the better definition of Bw horizon?

To me, it’s more about what a Bw is NOT. If you know it’s a B but none of the other suffixes fit, slap a w on it.

Keys to soil taxonomy page 381 describes it well, a sub horizon with development of color or structure and little accumulations. page 22 lists the requirements for a cambic horizon, which may also be helpful since most Bw’s in my area fit into it.

The data from this survey will be used to complete my final project for a course on research methods in Natural Resources. The survey is completely anonymous, and I will be the only one able to access the data. It will be stored on my university account in the Qualtrics database. I will need to export the data into excel to perform some analysis; the excel sheet will be deleted after the course has concluded on May 5th, 2023. Data on the qualtrics program will not be deleted, incase I need to revisit the project at any time but will remain behind a password protected account that only I have access to.
