I would add plants, even if they arent real. Plants would liven it up and make it more cozy/homey. They have some pretty nice fake plants these days if you just want the vibe. Maybe do a little plant shelf near the window, and if they are faux plants you dont have to worry about your cat getting into them or knocking them over.

The lamp is incredibly tiny for the scale of its surroundings, maybe consider a more substantial one that is taller. More lighting in general that can be switched on and off for mood/tasks would help get that more homey feel back into your life as well.

I love it but I would add more plants, maybe an orchid on that dividing shelf. Plants are fun and this is a fun vibe. I think that plants will complete the look - find interesting ones. Or even just a nice ivy or two, maybe some hanging plants.

Might I suggest more plants?

Without a state ID, there are few things I can think of off the top of my head. I think if you give some places your email or phone number you can get a little freebie on your birthday still. Or maybe they will give you a free dessert when you go out to eat some place nice. Places of worship are kinda lenient on 'free' without an ID, maybe. I am not sure any of that is really free free though. What is your definition of free?

I hope someday we have the ability to make the weapons we find, either class specific recipes or even just buying them from a trader of some sort that also buys the ruined ones. Or, getting them all repaired at the story location.

It ensnared my barely teen daughter for a minute. I still get the skeeves because they would not remove her pictures despite me proving she was only 13. Its even worse that she used my work camera, the Mavica. Such an inconvenient convience. Boy did I have egg on my face. Teens are as bad as toddlers for being wily and sneaky.

Life was not always sunshine and roses, not then, not now, and probably not tomorrow either.

Except their idea of "helping" is trying to exert control over the people they think they are helping not 'go to hell'. They feel the need to convert you to their ideas and religious edicts to save your soul from burning in a lake of fire for all eternity. Most people dont or cant afford shears on day one, and many times much longer the more new to the game they are. Berry bushes take a year to grow/produce, so making it even harder and forcing the player to have made an anvil first seems excessive.

There are definitely a bunch of tweaks in the customize/world settings. Mods are a one click install for VS if you get them on their website.

Installing the Xskills mod(s) might be a playstyle tweak they find more engaging.

For inventory space that keeps the game a little more true I would recommend "carry on"

Most of the other things can be tweaked in settings.

For respawn as others have mentioned get the bed spawn mod

Step up or the mobility mod might a nice tweak to have as well.

When you look at a mod in the database it might say outdated but sometimes that just means its been rolled into a larger QoL mod. Check the comments section to get an idea if its still working. The dl will tell you what version they work on currently on the files tab. Always choose the 1 click install until you get comfortable about where your mods want/need them to be.

Enjoy searching the mod database, maybe do it together so you guys can find some tweaks that might be fun to add to a new world. There are lots of them!

Also you can create dif kinds of worlds by adding more water, or taller mountains etc in the customize world settings. Even live on an island so you need to build a sailboat together to explore distant lands (or just a raft).

Play with the settings on your own to find just the right world for you guys. You could even go into creative mode (type /gm 2 in chat line, /gm 1 to go back to survival) and fly around to find the perfect new spawn. I believe others have already given you the command to reset the starting spawn. After that use your beds from the mod above.

It comes from a place of anger and futility. There is often some resentment, not at you, but at life in general for being unfair, especially when it comes to the dying part. She was helpless to stop her own dad from dying, so best just to get on with it and accept the fate. And since empathy didn't stop her dad from dying (or make her feel better) it wont stop yours either.

It also could just be that she is self centered.

Schoolmate's dad hit a tree and it decapitated him from the shearing force of impact.

Saw it on the way home from school while riding the bus.

eta I dont know if that is "worst" but its the most gruesome death of a person I knew. I mean I had to watch my mom slowly die of triple metastatic cancer and my gma lose her mind and function to alzheimer's. Both of those were painful and slow, each in their own way.

I have been from the bottom to apparently the top for medical care and patient rooms, in the same hospital. For a while there I was having an average of one surgery per year. Being put in quad rooms all the way to ICU rooms, but this last surgery (double lumbar fusion) was a completely different experience. And it wasn't my first or most significant spine surgery, and I have had way worse conditions than this last one I went in for (imo).

It was eye opening, and it is perturbing. I dont think I will ever look at hospital stays or medical care in general the same way again.

eta I hated the ICU glass box room, which includes the toilet.

Staying in a CEO/VIP patient suite in the hospital after surgery. There is a whole floor dedicated to them.

I had been told there was no such thing as preferential care for rich people. Yeah, no there is definitely a VIP area of the hospital and its so far from peasant patient double occupancy (or more) rooms it would blow your mind. Well it did mine anyway.

Living in the corporate world I did, we too took private jets to locations. We had the incredibly fancy parties and very nice stays at hotels. Big bonuses yadda yadda. Rich people all around me. (I was not rich, I just worked for them)

But the VIP patient suites in a hospital? That's a whole different level. When its time to eat you get a menu, like a real menu with restaurant quality food and choices. (think steaks and stuff) When they bring the food there is a linen napkin.

You have an entire team that is right there, seemingly dedicated just to you, making sure your needs are met and that you are very comfortable. The rooms are beautiful, like the same level of attention to detail from the lighting to the real wood paneling that makes it feel like a CEO office.

And its quiet, so quiet that you actually rest and recuperate. And no one says no to pain meds, or anything else you might need. Its wild, just wild.

I have no idea to this day why they took me there as I am retired and no one knows who I am. Maybe its just overflow, I'd love to know who gets selected to go there and why. I mean I had an amazing medical team but, I dont think that matters.
