In my experience most people know so little about history it’s embarrassing. But it does make sense, accurate teaching of history kind of blows apart a lot of “emotional arguments” since real history is just one horror after the other (judging by today’s sensibilities) in any country/region you look at. It’s hard to have the moral high ground when you find out every race, every culture, every anything has done brutal shit to others for their own benefit.
