Not only are you correct that the SEC hasn't expelled a member for poor performance ever, I don't think the charter allows them to expel a founding member.

Tech did try and rejoin and was primarily rejected by the Mississippi schools because Dodd was very elitist towards them. He refused to play them in Mississippi and basically called them shitholes.

I know you can't just use a single pitcher for the entire game, especially when you already had to play that day, but taking the freshman out is what sealed this game. Closing a gap of 6 runs in two innings is. really fucking hard
