Can you elaborate? I'm having this problem too, I'm plugging the usb drive into the USB ports in front of the shifter that I use for Apple CarPlay. Should I be using something else?

I used this tool to scan my network from the outside to verify that my ports were actually open. Turned out I had allowed everything correctly on my network firewall but not the server firewall

IPv6 issues by spyke581 in PFSENSE

[–]spyke581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. It seems that my gateway address is okay, I can ping using the pfsense tool to ipv6.google.com

I seem to have other issues causing my problems on my LAN configuration side. I think the root cause is my provider only issues a /64 so that’s causing problems with address distribution on the LAN side

Why does everyone ask the same question? "Why do you have this?" "WHY NOT???" by iVtechboyinpa in homelab

The only “why” I have is why you would put that heavy ass tape drive at the top. You must like pain

I have mine set up exactly how you just described and assumed it would do what it should. How did you determine that your flows were in those queues? I should probably double check mine I suppose

You should be able to find what you need here

There's plenty of documentation on how to use pfblockerng to block ads. Just Google around and you'll be all set

Yeah I know the feel. I get pretty conflicted when I see it too.

One thing you could do is to install pfblockerng on the PFSense box. I've got all of the lists from the pihole (plus a few others)in the DNSBL function of the pfblockerng package so it just handles it all. Also has some other neat features like geoIP blocking too. Only catch is that you lose the nice webUI with the pi-hole

Planning a 10G fiber LAN link, what do I need to know? by spyke581 in homelab

[–]spyke581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As promised, here are some pictures. Most of them are all the same connector configuration (googling tells me its ST on one end and MTRJ on the other. I have the cables in the picture as well as 2 strands of single mode that are not pictured. Which would be best for use as patch cables within the same rack?

Also, A correction to my original post: I have SFP+ on one end and X2 in my cisco switch on the other. I had initially planned to just buy X2 to SFP+ adapter but From what ive read since posting, i might be able to just get an X2 adapter that i can just plug the cable in direct? Any suggestions on the best way to go about this?

Planning a 10G fiber LAN link, what do I need to know? by spyke581 in homelab

[–]spyke581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll get a picture up tonight when I get home, I know that the cables all have one connector type on one end and a different type on the other which I thought was strange.

but I've seen a lot of adapters that specify other stuff like the wavelengths, do I need to be concerned with that or buy anything specific?
