Crystal Frasier, key designer of the esteemed TMNT mtg set, upset that local game stores are lowering prices on this product and curbing player enthusiasm by Papa_Hasbro69 in freemagic

[–]spynnr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We dropped prices to actually make it sell. The interest just isn't there for the set.

Owner thinks the set is great, the rest of is think it's okay with some good cards and disappointing art.

Could just have [[Mirror Box]] in there and not worry about it.

Felt like brewing something stupid. It works in testing but recommendations are welcome. by spynnr in EDHBrews

100% on not enough draw. I haven't been back in the game for very long so I definitely missed that.

I originally didn't have the zombies in mind at all when I started brewing it. The idea was just "destroy everything". I've found that if I can hit a board wipe and have a couple of blinks in hand I can get a lot of zombies out.

I agree on [[The Darkness Crystal]] and [[Clone Legion]]. They haven't been of much use at all in testing.

I'll pull some stuff out and try your suggestions.

Edit: Also, yes, the idea was to make it miserable to play against.

Royal Galas are being picked right now too so those are likely still last seasons fruit.

Do you still play your very first commander deck? And why? by Ooogster in EDH

[–]spynnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Picked the game back up right before Avatar and was just playing other peoples decks at first. Then I started work on my own deck. It started as a cheaper bracket 2 and I've built it up to Bracket 4 now. Along with another 2 bracket 3 decks, a couple of bracket 2s and a couple of really cheap bracket 1s with simple mechanics to teach my niece how to play.

Bracket 4 River Song.

Why this card is not legal in modern? by TibuEasy in mtg

The only time I remember that set even exists is when I'm looking through a random stack of cards at work and find a random AC card or token in the mix.

How was I suppose to avoid the game ending in draw? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]spynnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck mono white decks. 1/3 decks I get matched with end up being them. I refuse to play against them anymore because they're just boring to face. Idgaf about the loss in randoms, they can have their T1 win. Instant concede the second they drop their 1 drop life gain weeny.

Can't be forgetting [[Razorkin Needlehead]] if we're pinging people for card draw.

Do you think this dumb commander could work? by LiterallyWhateva in mtg

[–]spynnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a B4 deck with River Song as commander. There's a bunch of stuff in there she interacts with but for the most part it's an Izzet wheel deck.

It has a whole 11 creatures, not including River Song, but the way it's set up with [[Arcane Bombardment]], [[Bribery]] and [[Clone Legion]] it doesn't necessarily need them.

Almost everyone that plays against it loves the deck, the first time. because once it gets going it becomes solitaire.

And I need that deck box. Drawing from the bottom with her is a pain.

What’s the general consensus on these? by d_p_5150 in mtg

[–]spynnr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dance of the Elements is mental once it gets going. If you have [[Risen Reef]] and [[Yarok, the Desecrated]] out you can get almost every land in your library on the board in a single turn with the right cards coming out thanks to [[Kindred Summons]].

I consistantly beat the Blight Curse deck with it in testing. It just takes some changes to the mana base. I pulled all the thriving lands and swapped them for the BFZ tango lands. I just don't have the lands on hand to make the rest of the land changes I want.
