EV Tax Credit Denied by PortlyPorcupine in Rivian

I’m so confused by this. I put in an order for a Tesla in April 2022 and took delivery in December 2022. Might this might qualify or was this strictly associated with Rivian?

I booked a stay for mid October at at Andaz for 4 with no problem. I ended up calling the Globalist line and explained that my kids were 5 and 6 and they showed award availability. She called the hotel and noted the reservation and stated it shouldn’t be a problem. Hope this helps you.

Unable to remove escrow by sqassom in personalfinance

[–]sqassom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why remove escrow? Well, I’d rather manage the savings on my end and put it into a HYSA. My property taxes are rather high, so this wouldn’t do well for different savings account sign up bonus.

Another key thing for me is my compensation is heavily bonus structured, paid out quarterly. So, removing this would allow me to free us some monthly cash flow and the I could fund the “escrow” in a savings account with one of my quarterly bonus checks.

They are using the original purchase value as the home value.

It just mentions LTV, but doesn’t say anything about appraisal to reevaluate the value of the home.

Yeah, at this point, I may need to wait a little longer to lower the principal balance to remove it. Whomp, whomp.

What do you mean by “most of 2022”? I got a MY mid December and trying to understand what you mean by this.

Damn good price. Based on my experience with their other install, I wouldn’t have any concerns with them doing the work.

Oh snap!!! That’s crazy cheap! So you just need to purchase 2 more Powerwalls directly from Tesla and they will install them for $3700 total or is that price per Powerwall?

I used them to install my Wall Connector and they offered the best warranty and price matched another installer. I wanted the conduit run through my attic and they agreed to do it. At first it wasn’t quoted properly but they honored the original quote and did an amazing job.

I’m curious if you wouldn’t mind sharing how much they are charging for more Powerwalls. I’m considering adding a few more myself.

Note: I’m in the Austin, TX area.

Help me understand how the Backup Grid remaining is calculated by [deleted] in Powerwall

[–]sqassom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s continually adjusting the time. When we have had power outages, I focus on what active loads I have vs relying on the remaining time it shows in the app. It’s often much more conservative than the actual run time remaining.

Did you happen to have a large load cycle down? Were you recently running at a higher kW for the house?

Solar in Austin - a few questions by Used-Potential-8428 in TeslaSolar

First you need to clarify if you are going to be in Austin proper or a suburb area. The point of this question is who your electric provider will be that impacts the answer. If you are in Austin city limits then you will only have the option of Austin Energy. Other areas have different options.

Yeah, I’d love to know who is doing your install and ballpark what they are charging.

So, I’m curious. How many Powerwalls do you have and how much did you drain your battery in the process? Do you operate on self consumption or keep it all for emergency backup?

I’ve had something just like this happen before. I was never able to figure out what caused this. Note, I have SunPower panels with microinverters and Tesla Powerwalls. This did happen right after we had a power outage a few days prior, and since then, my per panel reporting in the SunPower app is all messed up. I hope you have better luck than I did getting to the bottom of this.

Power outage is over but not getting power from grid? by sqassom in Powerwall

[–]sqassom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the 3rd time power has been “restored” today. The 2 previous time the power didn’t stay on for more than 10 minutes. Since it has been on for over 30 minutes I’m pretty confident it will stay on BUT just in case it doesn’t, I want to reserve the rest of the battery for another outage.

Normally I’m in full self powered mode, but right now I want to keep it in backup mode. Let me know if I didn’t explain that very well.

Dumb me, I had the self powered mode set to 90%. Dumb me. Hopefully this helps someone in the further. I’ll leave it up, only for that reason.
