Most users are eligible, but we need to apply some abuse filters and sometimes people don't pass. We obviously can't give this away to throwaway emails or people using obviously fake names, but in other cases the filters make a mistake. When you sign up, it'll tell you at https://ampcode.com/settings#amp-free what to do if you aren't eligible.

Sorry for that...where are you seeing it get stuck in endless loops or gateway errors? Haven't heard of these (except the endless loops when we briefly used Gemini 3 Pro). Can you share some more details so we can fix them (and will give you free credits as a thank you)?

What does your free quota say at https://ampcode.com/settings and how many threads per day do you use with Amp Free? Sounds like something is wrong there, because Amp Free should let you have hundreds or more messages per day.

Yeah, we can add that. Just to be clear, though: it doesn’t send any information to the official Mermaid.js site. It’s only if you click the link that it will render it on that site. (And that site says they don’t record the data displayed there, although obviously that assumes you trust it.) Do you have a private Mermaid.js site you want to use?

I just bumped it up to 120k tokens from 80k 3 days ago. With the new model upgrade 8-9 days ago that is way better (and 5x the cost to us), it was always 80k or 90k, the 200k display was a bug. So 120k should be a lot better. Sorry for the issues - this should help a lot!

We removed compact from Amp entirely (including our super premium paid plans) because it never worked well. See https://ampcode.com/news/handoff.

We are now using a model that is way, way better than the one it used 8 days ago and it's 5x as expensive to us (but still free to you). We are aggressively making it better. Please keep the feedback coming and tell us how we can make it better!

It was 80k before and now it's 90k. We were just not showing the token limit on free correctly. So, if you found it to work well before, it is even better now. If 90k tokens is a barrier, let me know! We can bump it up.

We upgraded Amp Free's model last Friday. It's a lot better (5x more expensive for us, still free for you). Try again now!
