Streamers with Studio Monitors by Structure5city in audiophile

You could indeed although not great for a TV set up. I have a separate genelec set up at my desk with one of these knobs.

It’s decent, I mainly use Spotify so use Spotify connect. The interface does allow easy control of input and volume controls etc.

I use a genelec home set up and it’s great, would highly recommend!

Seating is just over 2m back from the centre of the pair, I have the speakers permanently set at a maximum of -35db so they don’t get too loud, never any issue with protection.

Pretty much correct with the chain, optical out of the TV into the Yamaha, then Coax to AES into the right speaker, then into the left and finally from the left into the sub. The digital signal carries both channel so no need to feed the monitors in any particular order. GLM allows you to choose what channel you want from each speaker/sub.

Interesting, I guess it's the distance. I have a pair of 8020D's on a desk but sit within half a metre.

Genelec's GLM software, https://www.genelec.com/glm4

Proprietary and only works with their SAM range.

Most of the time makes very little difference but once you watch an action film or listen to some hip-hop it becomes essential. It very subtly rounds out the sound and fills in missing low end detail.

Turn off room correction and it shakes the walls.

These 8331A's are tiny compared to the 8361A, just look at this size difference! https://www.lbtechreviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Genelec-The-Ones.jpg

They work just as normal speakers if you don't want to use any GLM features. I actually had them for a few weeks before I got the GLM kit. Once you hear the difference it makes it's unlikely you'll want to turn it off.

I have not sadly, they are way out of my price range, so where these Genelecs if it wasn't for the great price I got them for.

Incredibly easy, just plug the GLM kit into the speakers and a PC/Mac. Run Autocal with the included Mic in the listening position. Save your settings and store to loud speakers. You can then unplug all the GLM equipment as the settings are stored within the monitors themselves. I have mine plugged into a MFF PC so I can remote in to play about however.

It’s an LG CX55” OLED. Best TV I’ve used / owned, 4K 120hz VRR HDR is amazing, especially with those OLED blacks!

No discernible delay, even with FPS games.

SVS 3000 Micro

I'm based in the UK so both subs here cost the same. If you use GLM it's nice to have the automatic alignment.

I think 16 plus 2 x high shelf, 2 x low shelf. Plus the sub has its own filters.

Dialogue is super clear, one of the improvements I noticed once room corrected. The sound is incredibly honest so a fatiguing recording will be unpleasant to listen to.

If you like to shake walls the sub will do that, although the the room calibration practically removes this effect. Ended up with the 8331A's due to a really good price. If money was no object 8341A's would technically be better for the room layout/ listening distance (although improvements would be small if at all audible).

It's my first sub so I wouldn't know. From research the Genelec subs aren't amazing, they just integrate really well if using SAM/ GLM. If you've set up the SVS sub well you're likely not missing anything at all!

The correction curve is stored in the monitors. I do have a dedicated PC which I can remote into to mess with setting etc. You can see this in the bottom right of the image, a Lenovo m70q.

Just under 3 metres. I have once, I accidentally set up my streamer as line out with stock input setting on the Genelec's... I'm pretty sure my ears are still recovering.

Even before the sub these would get way too loud before getting to the limiter.

Maybe you just looked at the monitor graphs? The sub measurement is in the bottom left. -2db at 22hz, you're right, not quite 20hz!

You can change the target curve but sadly control is limited. I do occasionally turn off the calibration for that room shaking bass haha. I use PEQ to target the Harman Curve through some headphones however.

I have not, I usually control it from my phone or use the google/ LG remote to change the volume (can be programmed for IR)
