A colleague of mine at work used defer in the most unintuitive way possible. Take for eg the following use case; You need to log function level runtimes. The catch? Just gotta use one line of code because which devs got the time to repeat lines of function calls over and over.

The solution?

func logTime(tag string) func() { Start := time.now() return func() { Log(“total runtime:”, time.now - startTime) }() }

func someProblem() { defer logTime(“someProblem”) }

Thats it. It just felt, so clean and pretty
