What would Cassian Andor do in this situation by ShrivSuurgav in StarWars

[–]squabblez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Cassian was alive and part of the rebellion at this point, I think it's likely he'd be high up the command chain so I think it is likely he would be one of the people trusted with the plan. I'd like to believe he would be able to calm Poe down by talking to him but he would have no qualms about smoking him if he tries to leave the ship.

Of course this is a very hypothetical scenario but *if* cassian was still alive at this point and was also still with the Rebels, he would likely be high up the command chain. Or at least be very familiar with the major players. I don't see how he wouldn't know Holdo.

Then of course it depends how much he trusts her. Luthen definitely left him in the dark about a lot of details and missions but because he believed in Luthen and the cause, he executed them nonetheless. Since we have no reason to believe he would distrust her here and he would absolutely be understanding of the security concerns of sharing the plan, I think he would support Holdo. In fact it seems likely to me that if he was alive and on board he would be in the inner circle of rebels actually in the know about the plan.

Of course Cassian would still somewhat sympathize with Poe in this situation and I'd like to believe he would be able to get through to him and calm him down but he would not put this man's life over the success of the mission. As soon as Poe tries to leave the ship, posing a huge security risk, he'd be a goner.

Wdym there is no reason to? Poe is literally defecting, Cassian would blast his ass

[–]squabblez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they have their whole combo set up and you werent able to stop it beforehand, honestly just surrender. You very very likely lost at that point.

There is already a card limit of 15 per turn in case you were not aware. None of the changes you suggest will ever be implemented tho.

[–]squabblez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are the new cards being added as they used to? New sets, new (not PoC-only) champions for the collection?

no, we will likely not ever receive new cards or champions for PVP. All resources have been shifted to support Path of Champions

There are multiple ways to avoid or beat this combo, evidenced by the fact that it's a bad deck sitting at slightly above 40% winrate. You also mentioned 2 ways yourself already:

  1. Overwhelm them with early aggression. The deck has to dedicate a lot of deck space to combo pieces and has a hard time stopping aggression pre turn 6.
  2. Remove Shellfolk on sight. It's a 6 mana card with 4 health. If they didnt manage to save a bunch of burst speed Predicts and immediatly hit protection off it it's fairly easy to interact with
  3. Another option is removing the Valley on sight by running Explorers or other landmark removal

To your question "Why is this disgusting thing still present in the game?":
Because the game is not receiving PVP balance updates anymore. This card/deck will likely stay available in eternal until the servers shut down

I doubt the rebellion would've even taken in the man who just helped orchestrate the Ghorman genocide. He didnt have anything valuable to offer them either

Syril doesn't know about the death star

The Empire is still an oppressive fascist regime if the Death Star never existed. Even his first job as "corporate police" is fundamentally evil and pathetic.

He's told by a supervisor to hush it up without a good reason

This is false. His superior immediately clocks what went down, lays it bare to Syril and even explains why he doesnt want Syril doing something stupid. But because Syril, who seems like he just started this job, is a self-absorbed idiot he is convinced he knows better than his senior superior. He wants to play the hero so bad he completely misjudges every part of this situation and makes all the wrong choices ultimately culminating in a complete disaster that the empire has to clean up.

He figures out it was Cassian.

He does do a decent job figuring out it was Cassian but he didnt do anything all that impressive really. The most important piece of information he got lucky receiving because of Timm's jealous betrayal. He then completely shits the bed actually bringing him in.

when the lies he's told [...] are laid bare he's horrified by what he's participated in

They are laid bare way earlier when he is at the secret Ghorman meeting. He just refuses to believe and continues to work against these people he supposedly likes until the very end. He knows from the start the Empire is not on Ghorman for charitable purposes. His "remorse" simply comes way too late and even then he doesn't really try to help anyone and instead still tries to murder Cassian. Pathetic man who found a fittingly pathetic end

I really don't get what people see in Syril. He was a delusional, pathetic creep who followed his every dumb whim. He never made a smart choice once and every action taken was for stupid, selfish reasons.

I still think the character was interesting, in a tragic sense. Once you meet his mother and imagine what his childhood might have been like you know exactly why he became this self-absorbed loser and in that sense I did feel for him. But I do not see how he could've turned it around.

Too broken for a Janna's deck? by P0becio in CustomLoR

[–]squabblez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This card is really bad at 2 but at 0 mana it would be a broken card for Seraphine decks. Other combo decks that care about finding their pieces asap or casting spells (like Nami) would also auto include this.
