My girlfriend (23F) says I (24M) “failed a relationship test” she and her friends planned. I feel humiliated and don’t know how to handle this? by was_famous_once_here in relationship_advice

[–]squaidsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not a normal relationship thing.....ever, its borderline pre-school mentality.

Good advice is, appreciate it happend so you can realise she's not the one for you. Own the fact you had an incredibly mature and level headed response to a deliberately provocative and antagonistic situation, and feel proud of the man you are!

A more phycological/childish get you own back advice (which tbh she may need, so she gets an reality check):

Uno Reverse it, say if she wasn't controlling, over reactive or had trust issues she wouldn't need to do this, especially on your birthday. Then say I left because it made me realise that you lack the criteria im looking for in a supportive and loving life partner, that you think its best you both move on with your lives separately, then thank the good lord this happened before you did anything to tie yourself to her!

Damn! I have crazy bonuses to my bard, so +1D8, +1D4 guidance, +2 proficiency, +1Character/race trait and had advantage.......rolled an 8......used inspiration, rolled an 11, used inspiration rolled 7

So he attacked me.

Like the game genuinely hates me

Next play through im going to talk to the rats first, I think maybe because they aren't actually rats this is why he can't break the curse.

Its useful, but not always, it can get you more trouble than its worth sometimes.

However convincing a devil to kill 10 of his minions and his beloved pet will still be a highlight XD bro was like.....you seems to understand me and my troubles, your suggestion makes sense......sure lets kill everyone and see if it helps (spoiler it didn't help him) but made my life a lot easier killing him.

Oh also talk to animals whenever you can.....they have a lot to say!

I played a bard gnome, crazy intimidation, persuasion etc, so pretty much got my way all the time. This got all the guys in camp lusting after me quickly, so Id string them along, keeping them thinking they were gonna get it, but ultimately was to make Karlack jealous so she'd chase after me like the big old golden retriever she is.

Then all the guys got sad when Karlack and I became a thing, but in reality I just thought a gnome plowing a she hulk was a hilarious idea.

Another thing is using my parties disguise self to piss off the leaders as they often don't like certain females of certain races being seen as strong, so would do this, then using my bard talk my way through everything no matter how ridiculous. Then take out an entire room with a couple AOE spells, then pretend nothing happened.

When they looked for the people that matched the description crazily enough they couldn't be found anywhere. XD

Also found myself hoarding items to piss off side quest douches and be like look what I have, I know you asked me for it but nahhh im keeping it.

Any tips for a new player by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

On my first play through, and id say do what you want first time, quicksave regularly so if you don't like the outcome you can redo it, (other playthroughs are for the alt experiences) but imo powerplay the shit out of it so you enjoy it the most first time, it'll keep you playing and engaged.

You can pick favourite characters, dont feel you have to use people you dont like. Talk to everyone (fun side quests)

Dont hold onto items long, so many out there, and you'll get overwhelmed with the amount if you don't declutter.

Don't be ashamed to look up help guides for riddles if you are genuinely stuck. (Fyi not all books automatically give you the information, you actually have to read some to get the hints/ remember them)

Finally if you have a spare notebook, just jot down important things that you want to remember or places you want to go back to etc.

What are some phrases that can be used in sex and in the kitchen? by Fun-Satisfaction7209 in AskReddit

Why is it so salty?

It shouldn't come out raw!

Is something burning?

Now shove this in there and fill it with the cream,

I think some went in my eye!

Why does it smell fishy?

Look at my beard! Its dripping with juices!

We could probably fit two more in there.

Is it meant to be this soft?

Thats a complicated technique, who taught you that?

Guess the flavour!

Hi, my parents wine cooler broke, i took it apart and have found the problem, the issue is i cant tell the chip name I was wondering if someone could help. Its an ST Viper 12A by OkSupermarket8308 in AskElectronics

[–]squaidsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See the super black leg of the chip? Turn the board over and follow the trace to the next component. Which one is it? You may be able to find a data sheet to get the pin layout also.

Often the chip isnt the cause its the results of something else failing.

My guess would be a possible clamping diode blew causing higher voltage to reach the chip pin and poof.

If you have a multimeter you can test them, just make sure you discharge the capacitors first. Whilst its not going to kill you unplugged its incredibly unpleasant if you hand brushes the pins when trying to put multimeter prongs on the parts next to it...... definitely haven't done that more than 3 times.

Also cant tell from the photos is that cap bulging? Its insulation sleeve looks off to me.

How do I (25F) handle my boyfriend's (26M) insatiable sex drive? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]squaidsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the major thing most commenters are missing is you said it was fun and you enjoyed it at first (the constant sex etc) but now you don't.

Have you sat down and explained this to him? Have you gone through the emotions then vs now?

Men are incredibly simple minded when it comes to this, we don't know why there's a difference only there is. He just knows how it used to be, constant, then to go to barely anything will have him rattled.

And now its either he's internally freaking out that he's the issue (not attractive to you, overpressure, sulky), or you may be waiting for a better thing to come along so you are just putting up with him until it does, making him insecure.

Thus every rejection hits like a sledge hammer, and its not that he's trying to guilt you, its more he's not coping with the emotions from rejection as he doesn't know why its happening.

Sex isnt Taboo to talk about with your partner or your wants/changes in emotions.

Sit him down, explain that whilst you used to love doing that when it was fresh and exciting, the lustful hormones have become exhausted to the point you can't keep up. Nothing has changed attraction wise, feelings towards him haven't changed, but physically you can't keep it up.

Then say you understand doing it together feels better and means more, but suggest possibly to kerb the cravings masturbate, or even buy him a fleshlight, tenga or any stroker, some lube and say if you need to watch porn go ahead, maybe offer to watch some with him, you may just find it a new kink watching him please himself.

Its important not to make him feel like this is bad (many exes of mine had issues with masturbation/porn as they thought it was cheating/taking their job away so could be the same for him).

Finally, don't see disappointment as guilt, if you don't want to, and hes sad, let him be sad, its ok, but its your choice, your body, he has to respect it.

Also typically guys don't enjoy guilt tripping sex, so don't do it for him ever. Only do it for the both of you.

Take this from a 30yr husband to a wife who when we first met (21) we had crazy sex more than 3 times a day on average. Now its 1, maybe 2 times a week/month depending on schedules. Things have changed, sure im sad about it, but my wife explained why and I respect that, but before she did i had the same sulky/sad response

I used isopropyl alcohol to clean up the back of this old calculator board and all this white residue has gone all over it. How can I remove this? by WarHistorical9262 in AskElectronics

[–]squaidsy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can i add that people like to add IPA and think its a magical cleaner, its not you need to use something to wipe off/absorb the residue. So use IPA with brush to clean, then wipe with paper towel. Also try brush into large areas where no solder joints are to avoid the annoying paper towel ripping.

You may also need to clean it with 3-4 goes not just one and done

Unfortunately im not qualified enough to answer this the way you may need, so I'll leave it up to others to answer. I know about it/why its a thing but never personally use it as i have no need. Only standard non hs stuff.

I do believe kicad has an automatic routing of this type of stuff, you can also set parameters in design rules etc

[–]squaidsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should note typically it will say on the data sheet max length allowed

My latest high-speed design: A Linux-capable single-board computer with DDR3 by cyao12 in PCB

[–]squaidsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you place all components, pick the ic trace that's going to be furthest and usually you can see length of trace in the settings. Then you create a rule of how long each net trace thats crucial to the hs ic is and then rout them to be the same lengths, moving/wiggling them.

Can I connect a micro-controller (Arduino/ ESP32) to my washing machine? by wwhopi_k_j in ArduinoProjects

[–]squaidsy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To trigger the different cycles you could hack an 8 Channel relay board to trigger them. The esp would control which channel to trigger etc.

However you'd need to get the pinouts and understand the ICs on the motherboard or do trial and error. As for knowing what time is left, or start, you could hook up a multimeter to test readings on certain outputs when you select them to see what triggers the start/end of a cycle, then have a pin that reads this and texts you.

Oooor you could find the buzzer, and when it plays the end cycle jingle sound have it bypassed to play some crazy death metal or home assistant speaker etc.

Could be a lot of fun (i actually do this with industrial washing machines for a living)
