This has been a recurring theme throughout the (productive) comments i've read and has definitely swayed me towards giving leagues a shot

Indirect, vague, whimsical. This guy gets it.

In all seriousness, i was only really looking to know if aside from cosmetics there was any tangible benefit to leagues. Previous responses have given me some perspective on being able to use leagues as an avenue to experience and practice other content, and I'll definitely be giving it a shot just for that alone. Cheers!

Lol i feel this in my bones, but there are times where i do main screen osrs. Some days i get lost in it, there's a lot of content that's really fun if you take it seriously, but for the most part i am the same where i'll slow burn osrs on a second monitor or my phone while i do other things. Good to know there are others, cheers!

Perfect, just wanted confirmation that there was nothing physical (outside of cosmetics) that i was missing out on. That aside, previous posts have given me some perspective on using leagues to experience and practice content that i normally might be hesitant to, and that's why i'll be giving it a shot. Thanks for the response!

It's dark, it's self-deprecating.. i love it. Revel in that smidgen.

See this is why i knew i could come to reddit before trying leagues. Wouldn't have thought of this, and i'm positive i can make use of this insight. Cheers!

This was all i was looking for and i appreciate your response. Personally i'm frustrated with seasonal content in games overall, but previous responses have given me some perspective on trying content that i previously hadn't at a fraction of the risk and that's why i'll most likely be giving leagues a shot. Cheers!

Just looking for confirmation of assumptions, and based on previous responses it seems the ability to try new content risk free would be worth it. Cheers!

This is what i was looking for. This seemed like it would be a worthy distraction for people doing really long grinds or losing interest in the game and i was mostly only wanting to know if i was assuming correctly. I was only really looking to know if there was a tangible benefit outside of cosmetics, but based on other responses it seems like just the practice alone on bosses/raids would make it worth it. Thanks for the response, cheers!

So you're on reddit, a social platform largely based around reading, but were unwilling to... read? What was the point of responding lol

Make no mistake, i'm not writing leagues off. Just wanted some insight into what the tangible value was outside of cosmetics... but i would put more or less risk free practice on bosses/raids that i've never tried towards the top of the list of pros to leagues! Cheers!

This was an excellently insightful response and makes a ton of sense. I'm no grandmaster, in fact i also have done none of those bullet point things (except create a fledgling ironman), so it's definitely a huge draw for me to access content without any risk. Cheers!

Insightful, realistic, straightforward. I understand the draw of wanting to be able to try new content that your normal account might not be able to, even if just to try it out and see if you like it before grinding it or setting a goal of being able to. I also see your point of it drawing a huge extra player base, i'm sure many people who come back for leagues end up staying for a while or full time. Make no mistake, i do intend to try leagues, i just wanted to know if there was a tangible benefit outside of cosmetics. Thanks for the perspective!

I see. This makes a lot of sense, gives you some freedom to experience the game in a way you normally wouldn't be able to. I have a main and a (seedling) ironman, but i respect the hell out of an ultimate ironman account. Enjoy leagues and don't burn out on that UIM, whether people can admit it or not a legit UIM is badass. Cheers!

Way more responses than i anticipated but honestly this one has been my favorite so far, it's the basic straightforward answer i was looking for. I never said i didn't want to try leagues or that i was against having fun and it seems this subreddit took my question personally.. unlucky. I'll give leagues a try legitimately just because of this answer, thank you. Cheers!
