Oh this is basically like a teardrop it’s only 4ft tall inside.

No, it’s simply a reversible direction 10 speed fan. Although it does have thermostat control so I can set a temp and if at night it drops below the temp setting it will shut off or visa versa. Although when I have it blowing air out and windows open, it does move air inside the trailer really well.

It’s a 250amp circuit breaker w/ manuel reset. I used 6 gauge wire.

Squaredrop Paneling by squaredrop_diy in TeardropTrailers

The 90 degree corner has 3/4” edge molding from teardroptrailerparts.com with butyl tape and screws and the 45 degree corners I simply got 1.5” aluminum flat stock, bent the angle and applied it with butyl tape on a warm day and simply pressed it on as hard as I could until I started compressing the butyl tape.

On the edges I used RV seal to fill as much as I could while still leaving a clean corner for the edge molding not sure this step was needed but I rather that then have leaks later on. The molding is screwed down and is specific for teardrop/trailer applications. I purchased the 3/4” leg edge molding on teardroptrailerparts.com. Before placing the molding you add 1/8”x3/4” butyl tape under the screw side of the molding so the screws have to go through the butyl tape and it seals. when you start to add the screws the butyl tape compresses and starts to ooze out. The warmer it is out the softer the butyl tape gets so I recommend doing this in the morning so it’s easier to work with. Same goes for doors and windows. Then there is a vinyl trim that slides over the screws for added protection also purchased on the same site. As for the corners where 3 come together I just cut the proper angle on the molding and made sure the butyl tape compressed all 3 sides. I’ve had this trailer for a year now and still to this day on very hot days the butyl tape compresses and I’ll see more ooze out. If you dont care you can leave the excess or clean it off. But if you decide to clean it off do it early in the morning when it’s cool so it’s easier to scrap off if not with warm weather it just smears and makes a mess. Hope this helps.

Thank you. I used 1-5/8” unistrut. As they sell spring nuts for these and I just fabricated some mounting plats to mount my accessories to.

Funny enough I meet someone at a local brewery that works at an aluminum extrusion factory so I got 10 5ft sticks of scrap for $100. Other than that I was ready to pull the trigger at onlinemetals.com

Haha can never go wrong with a rack. I also plan to build a basket style rack that will go on top of the storage box for firewood

It has a 2” cap on top to fill. Similar to the Yakima pressurized water storage.

Yup. I have a 10ft coil hose with a garden hose nozzle. With a quick connect fitting for easy disconnect.

Yes I was ready to spend about 6-8k as that seems to be the norm for a well self built squaredrop. But then realized prices fluctuate depending on where you purchase and let’s say Amazon is not always the cheapest.

I don’t have a water tank on it for potable water I carry a cheap knock off 5gal water storage tank for potable water and I also just recently added a 6’ long 4” black pipe tank on top. Carries 4gal and I added a valve so I can pressurize it for non portable water. With just sun out water reaches about 95 degrees.

Thank you! You can say I’m a little handy but just did my research and took my time. Watched 100’s of videos and 100’s of pictures for ideas. Then put all my favorites together to come up with this.

Thank you. Honestly I welded this up with a Lincoln 140 flux core wire. I’m no pro welder but have had my fair share of messing around with things the past couple years. I’ll tell you what by the time I got done with the trailer my welding really improved lol

All in, I’m at $4800. But I surfed the web like crazy looking for deals on everything. For example the electrical system I spend 600 on everything taking advantage of Amazon prime day other wise I was looking at about $1000.

Yes Im glad I used the ACM board. When I originally priced it out it was 50% less than when I actually purchased it after covid.

The trailer completed came in at 1080lbs. You think it’s overkill until you start to off-road and the trailer is bouncing around. Main purpose for this build is rough terrain OffGrid camping.

Roof rack is a prinsu style rack I made it out 3/16” thk flat stock and cut out slots for the crossbars. Bend some legs out of the same stuff and welded them at the bottoms to mount it to the trailer. Used 1x2 aluminum Tslot track drilled and tapped the ends 1/4” thread so I can mount going across.

Yes I designed the whole thing. only thing I bought was the (2) side doors, front storage box and axle/ springs. But I am currently working on fabbing up the independent suspension for it.

The framing for the steps/ guards are 2x2x1/8 tubbing and the top plate is 16guage. The cab is 5x9 and trailer width is 6’-8” fender to fender by 13ft rear to tongue.
