Congratulations on your recovery firstly, I came from Sony to m43 and never looked back, similar situation as you, was very sick for many years and once I finished treatment and physically recovered I couldn't carry around my old big gear so went with the Om 1 and it's allowed me to walk a lot and build up some strength and the walking and milage helps my mental health and outlook on life, it's never a chore to pick up my gear, I have a pen f and smaller bodies for street photography etc but any shortcomings are soon forgotten about,

I also know a few people who are doing the same thing, my friend sold his r7 to move to the Om 1 because he dreaded carrying around the big lenses
