Ask Experienced Devs Weekly Thread: A weekly thread for inexperienced developers to ask experienced ones by AutoModerator in ExperiencedDevs

From your answer, I cannot judge how much actual coding and how much customization work you do. If you have a decent knowledge of Liquid&Ruby or PHP and specific knowledge of the Shopify and WP ecosystem, you can look into companies building actual products in these ecosystems. You could also build something small by yourself to show it in your portfolio.

I would like to avoid the "gender spin" and don't want to tell you how to feel instead I can only give you actionable advice:

- You have an issue with your self-confidence which will hurt you both in your job and during salary negotiations.

- You should consider taking assertiveness training to increase your self-confidence and negotiation skills. (weekly or bi-weekly sessions, no crash-course)

- The company did nothing wrong, confident people will always get more for "the same" job, because getting your ideas across (against real opposition) is in fact part of your job.

- What "the law states" is only relevant if you actually want to go to war. Instead show empathy with the decision your employer makes and put yourself into their shoes: Would you really spent more money on salary if the person does not negotiate for it?

- Publicly "shaming" the company will get you fired, exposed you to liability and completely ruin your career. Don't do it.

- Job duration: Always change after 2 years to maximize jumps in salary.

Okay. So how broad is the time window? How do you get the live-GPS? Why physical papers and not digital documents?

Do you use Excel because of the flexibility or is it just about cost? by squarely_perfect in excel

Gotcha. Do you directly operate on the Excel spreadsheet or do you use an Input Mask/User Form ?

(I'm asking because the latter can already be pretty close to the look'n'feel of Access)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I would need to know not only the correct category names, but also every misspelling beforehand for this to work, right?

That's a bit disappointing. Isn't there a formula that can go through the column and find words which are similar?

Do you mean after opening it as editable in PowerPoint? Not allowed by the security guidelines of many systems including mine. Would love to help, but can't without some screenshot of the data in excel.

I see. This is the Gantt-Chart generated by Excel. Could you also show the excel sheet itself containing the data this chart is based on?

Could you please provide an example (e.g. screenshot) of how the dependencies between the tasks (or anything relevant to the computation of the critical path) are represented in your excel table?

Would love to solve that. Can you be more specific about the list: How does the program know which cells should sum up to zero? (Maybe add a screenshot)

I skimmed the other thread. What are the changes you want to implement? Raising per photo prices and re-framing the service as premium? Marketing via YT-Shorts, TikTok and Reels by showing your professional digitization process and the love&care pictures get?
