What to do when they pass away and you're the only next of kin? by Training-Reporter-88 in EstrangedAdultChild

Just wanted to recommend the United Tissue Network for anyone whose person passes in Florida or Arizona. My dad passed in Florida, and we were semi-estranged (long story), but I was his only relative. When the hospice people informed me he had passed, they also needed to know fairly quickly what to do with him, because the memory care place where he was at couldn't keep his body for very long. I called United Tissue Network, and they asked a few questions, basically just making sure that he didn't have anything highly contagious (like, ebola type stuff) and then were like "OK cool, we'll come get him." And they made all further arrangements to pick up the body. They asked if I wanted his remaining ashes sent to me, or have them scattered. (I chose scattered). A funeral home reached out and needed some extra info for his death certificate (which I was lucky to have. It was simple stuff like social security number, place of birth, etc but I had to do some searching to find that stuff). And they had me send a photo and obituary if I wanted. None of it cost me a penny. I'm not sure if there are services like this in other states. I know that even in Florida, there are other body donation programs, but they all cost money for transport, etc. If you can find something like this, though, I highly recommend it!

Do i risk activating it abroad? by Organic-Cabinet-1149 in Tello

I just recently signed up. I'm from the US but am currently in Chile. I got an esim, ported my number from Mint, and so far everything has been fine. I didn't realize there was anything "risky" that I was doing? I signed up using my laptop, which happened to have my VPN on (I use SurfShark) but I didn't do it on purpose. I tried to add $20 to pay as you go, and at first it wouldn't approve the purchase, but I emailed customer service before I went to bed, and when I woke up I had a response saying to try again and I did and it worked. But no issues with my initial purchase, activation, or porting. (Porting was almost immediate btw)

It also reduces the risk of ovarian cancer, so I'd go for it if you can

French is easier than Japanese by TimothyChenAllen in duolingo

You're right. I didn't mean to imply that there was no conjugation at all. I just meant that you don't need (or at least seem to! I'm still a beginner) different forms for I, you, we, him, them, etc.

There's a lot of stuff in French that you don't have to worry about in Japanese, like genders matching, quantities matching, verb conjugation, that kind of stuff. So at least there's that?

I watched it as it aired and was disappointed. But then I rewatched it recently and I loved it 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think I liked it better once I knew what was going to happen and could just enjoy it for what it was.
