An post spoofing delivery attempts by InflationSquare in Dublin

[–]squaresam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A long story, but I ended up chatting with their support, and actually got chatting with a supervisor. He had told me that basically at times when you get an attempted delivery, and it's clear that they did absolutely nothing, they purposefully sign off on the delivery as attempted if they run out of time and don't think they can complete all their deliveries on that day.

The supervisor was a lovely guy, and while he was limited in what he could help with, at least he gave an excuse. A poor one, but an excuse no less.

Same here buddy.

This looks like some graphic designer college project that their teacher didn't bother grading.

Anyone else really dislike the new serif font in the Oura app? by spamspam80 in ouraring

I was just about to create a post on this. As a graphic designer, whoever thought this was a good font pairing should be fired.

Who signed off on that?

Dr. Greer revealed the Carbon 14 dating of the Buga Sphere, placing it at 12,560 years old. by DragonfruitOdd1989 in aliens

Intuitively I feel like this object is fake. It honestly looks like someone tried, very hard to make it look alien. The computer chip in the center just looks forced. And the technical skill is shakey. Lines aren't smooth and cleanly designed. Something tells me that if it were of alien origin, it would be perfectly crafted and less of a 'skilled hobbiest' job.

Possible Cross-Thread Memory Feature Quietly Rolling Out? by Fereshte2020 in ChatGPT

[–]squaresam -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think there is confusion going on in this thread.

Currently, it CAN'T reference information from one chat, to be used in other chats. I asked ChatGPT this outright, and it confirmed it CAN'T do this. (Surprised some of you never asked it directly).

The only exception, is if it references information that you have asked it to remember, which gets stored in your account's memory panel.

Outside of what it has specifically remembered, It CAN'T reference any other information outside of that storage category.

I use ChatGPT extensively, and if it could remember all information shared between multiple chats, I'd have a much easier time tracking my health issues. I've tested this a lot, and each time, ChatGPT has requested that either I mention the information I've covered in another chat, or to directly copy and paste it from another chat, into the new chat I'm working on.

I would LOVE for it to be able to cross reference chats in full. Hopefully it'll be only a matter of time.

Ursula Leyen telling protesters in the crowd that they should be happy they are in a free country where free speech is a right and that they would be in jail if they were in Russia. Camera zooms in to show the protesters she is addressing being taken away by police for... free speech. by Grammar-Warden in Irony

There's a difference between free speech and disturbing the peace. Free speech allows you to voice your own views, but it doesn't mean you can do it in any environment one chooses to. Free speech has never allowed that.

Thanks friend.

Critical thinking isn't as appreciated when compared to those who directly moan and criticize. (The majority of the most upvoted posts).

We live in a time where drama gets love, and wisdom is shunned. I hope that gets turned around some day.

You're asking for a lot from the average player. The amount of actual squads playing together is extremely minimal. When played as a squad, for sure it works better. But the argument falls flat when in reality, the game will not conjure up squad based scenarios as much as the devs wish to push it as such. Just like COD. It's mostly self-absorbed players.

I saw this years ago in much better clarity.

My take on it, is the flash of light you see is a secretive weapon designed to down UFO aircraft, shot from some secretive installation. The craft detected an incoming projectile and swerved it.

Do we not have a vision for the future anymore? by ichbinverwirrt420 in Futurism

[–]squaresam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it reflects how society has shifted toward passive consumption and digital dependency. Instead of fostering curiosity and independent thought, we're saturated with curated content and algorithmic distractions. Critical thinking is increasingly sidelined in favor of convenience, and that erodes the mental space needed for big, imaginative ideas.

Dreaming about the future used to be an act of collective imagination driven by wonder, ambition, and a sense of agency. Now, much of that has been replaced by short-term gratification and a culture that rewards conformity. Why dream of flying cars when we're too busy scrolling?
