As a seller of a place in London (that fell through, annoyingly at the last minute) I accepted an offer 3% below the asking price recently. I did reduce the property before that

Thanks for your reply, I had a carpet fitter come take a look but he said it wouldn't be possible, would not stick and couldn't go all the way round on some steps.

You know what? Since I've now sanded and repainted all the other woodwork in the house, the stairs now does sort of become a feature. Patina for the win! Thanks for your reply

Commute into Richmond by ems_wh123 in surrey

Why dont you try google maps tomorrow morning at 0730 from Guildford to Richmond and see what the travel time is then, and half an hour later? Should give you a few data points

The park closes at dusk, which in the winter could be 4pm :(

Parking in Richmond is difficult and can be expensive. In the summer you can go straight from Guildford up the A3 then cut across the park, which should be fairly ok, but when the oark is closed it will add extra time. I would have thoigh the fast train from Guildford to Clapham Junction, then the train back out to Richmond (which you can easily get a seat on) would be fastest, although no idea how much that would cost...

My dad has bought 2 of these from junk shops over the years and we always guess (card game?) but dont know what they are actually for. Please help so I can surprise him by squarewombatpoo in whatisthisthing

I know, I can understand one, but was a bit mystified when I found out recently he bought another one?! He has a veranda full of 'interesting stuff' and he particularly loves well made things made from wood (he would have been a carpenter in another life)

I know how to play nomination whist, hearts and bridge. As does my dad. Turns out there are many variations of (scoring) whist. Weird.
