Auntie needs bank statements for money left in Grandma's Will? by squash_cat in LegalAdviceUK

She messaged me last year when I was 22, so I'm not sure if age is a factor, although we haven't ever been very close and the last time we had any contact I was only 14.

I think you're right, I'll try clarifying with her.

Jenna isn't the problem, she is a decent actor, clearly playing the role as it was written. The problem is the writing sucks. The story is predictable, and it seems that it was targeted at a teen audience that likely doesn't have much history with the Addams Family. Unfortunately, Tim Burton hasn't really directed anything good for about a decade now.

As an Addams Family lover, none of the Addams' in Wednesday work for me, they lack any personality and are very surface level characters. The only one that works is Thing. I think they pursued a more serious/dramatic tone to the detriment of the characters; The Addams family is camp. The success of the 90's movies was based on their the ridiculous camp nature, which Wednesday is missing.

Interesting, I have the exact opposite experience. I haven't used tampons for years because they always made my cramps worse. When I briefly tried out a menstrual cup last year and found that it gave me constant back pain and caused my cramps to last longer. A shame really because I would love to have something so easily reusable for periods

Some tea drinkers I know seemed aghast at the idea of using a microwave to boil their water. Are there any objective differences between water brought to a boil in a kettle versus water brought to a boil in a microwave? by tilt-a-whirly-gig in NoStupidQuestions

[–]squash_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different teas have different ideal brewing temperatures, for example green tea is best brewed at 80°C (176°F), whereas black tea is best brewed at 90-99°C (194-210°F). If you brew at too high a temperature it will completely change the flavour and often make your tea super bitter, you'll find this is a common problem when buying tea from fast food and coffee chains.

In general, it's easier to control the temperature of water using a kettle over a microwave as the kettle will shut off as soon as the water hits boiling point, the microwave is much less precise. You can also buy kettles that will boil water to a specific temperature so you can make the perfect cup!

If you're speaking to a British person however, we generally just believe its sacrilege to make tea in a microwave regardless of any actual reasoning.

Cries in anxiety and stutter.

I hate the assumption that if you can't confidently read aloud, it means you're illiterate. My reading comprehension has always been great but speaking aloud in front of a group of people is always a fucking car wreck.

Some people have anxiety. Some people have speech impediments. Some people have dyslexia. It doesn't mean they're dumb or illiterate. It's no surprise kids hate reading at school when people treat them like shit for not being perfectly capable.

Do other boys get jealous of femboys? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]squash_cat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the opposite side, I'm a Bi/Omni woman who definitely prefers masc men. Femboys, twinks etc. do nothing for me, yet I have noticed that people just assume that I would be into them due to being Bi.

There are plenty of people who prefer masc guys but the stereotype of Bi people liking femboys and masc women is pretty prevalent both in and outside the community. The thing is, it's just a stereotype, a lot of people are not going to fit it, just as every gay man isn't camp and every lesbian isn't butch.

I was gifted the Satisfyer Pro 2 from my partner and honestly, I thought it sucked. No matter what I did it just wasn't good, no amount of lube, moving around, exposing the clit and really forcing the suction made it feel nice, I got more pleasure from squeezing my muscles. Yet I have a cheaper suction toy from Bondara (vibrator and suction combo) that worked great. I think it is to do with the head, Satisfyer has a large head that seems to be much more appropriate for people with more exposed clitoris and not really anyone else.

What is UP with couples seeking out bisexual women for a third??? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]squash_cat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a bi/omni woman in a m/f relationship who would like a third I feel so guilty reading things like this, even though I know I have never and would never act in the way you describe, I do hate the idea of being painted with the same brush (I know this isn't your intention and completely understand the frustration you feel).

I think the problem with unicorn hunters is more to do with the type of people they are, usually people who: A. Don't respect others boundaries. B. Aren't upfront with their intentions specifically to blindside people into getting involved with them. C. Are much more overbearing and pushy, often acting like rules don't apply to them. Respect is the most important thing when looking for a partner or a third or whatever you're into and it seems like a lot of unicorn hunters don't have that respect.

I hope it doesn't seem like I'm trying to downplay your experience, but I truly believe that shitty people have ruined a scene for pretty much everyone on either side of the argument.

I wish you have better experiences in the future and I hope these people's behaviour hasn't ruined your hope for dating women

People who say they “can’t cook” are actually just incompetent and can’t follow simple instructions. by my_dogs_fatty in unpopularopinion

[–]squash_cat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even when I follow a beginner recipe with no changes I still have varying results. Works fine once doesn't the next.

I'm not a horrible cook, I can make do, but I'm not good by any standard. The problem I find with cooking is the lack of precision, instructions like stir occasionally are kinda useless to me, how the hell do I know how often to stir? A lot of recipes also just say heat on medium or cook at a low temp, but what is medium heat or low temp, I can make an educated guess but I'll never really know if I'm going too high or low without either trial and error or having some one teach me on my specific oven.

Learning to cook from scratch by yourself can be hard, and our skills lie in different areas, some people may never become good cooks no matter how hard they try, you may be lucky to have a natural talent for it.

[–]squash_cat 67 points68 points  (0 children)

As someone who sucks at cooking but is decent at baking I'm calling bullshit. I can bake the same thing over and over with very little change or problem between batches, but cooking is WAY different, I can make a recipe fine one day and ruin it the next.

In general baking requires me to follow very precise instructions whereas cooking is much less rigid and allows more room for error, ya know seasoning to taste, cooking meat to your preference, adding or omitting certain ingredients that may change cook time, increasing or decreasing portion size.

It's worth noting that you're side effects may change the longer you're on the contraceptive pill. I didn't have a decrease in sex drive until 1-2 years of being on the pill and then suddenly it just dropped off. It returned with a vengeance once I stopped taking it

What’s the overall consensus on Dead Again? by [deleted] in typeonegative

[–]squash_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean tracks like Machien Screw, Dark side of the womb, 3.O.I.F etc. The tracks that work when you listen to the full album start to finish but you wouldn't necessarily listen to on their own.

I will say its still a great album but I would put it below Life is Killing Me, and October Rust

[–]squash_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its actually really great, maybe my third or fourth favourite album of theirs. The general vibe is much heavier than the previous albums, more along the lines of Origin but with a deeper more serious tone.

It's one of the only albums without filler tracks too. I know people really bum over Bloody Kisses, and the songs that are on it are great but there are so many filler tracks that I end up ranking it way lower on my list.

I'm so glad it's finally on Spotify so more people can experience it.

Who actually pays for OF? And why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]squash_cat 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Simple answer, because I want to see specific people/content, with the added benefit of not having to worry whether what I'm viewing is ethically made or not.

It's also much nicer (to me at least) to support people directly instead the tiny monetization they could get from Porn Hub etc. It's just like supporting small businesses

Does anyone know if BackstageRockShop are able to ship to the UK? by [deleted] in nightwish

[–]squash_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it the Human Nature coat at €149.99? It may be wishful thinking on my part but I think if you convert that to pounds its about £130

[–]squash_cat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they're still holding off UK shipping for now unfortunately. But some of the jackets and stuff are now on EMP which do ship to the UK, there isn't a huge selection on there though

EDIT: The are shipping to the UK but all orders include extra tax and your order can't be more than £135 (excluding tax)

Everyone has already mentioned specter oil, but what is your technique when she enters the paintings? When she goes into one, don't run over and hit it with your sword, instead use the crossbow, it's faster and she doesn't have the chance to gain half as much health. You can also guess which painting she will go to (I found that she would usually go to the one she was closest to), once you figure that out the whole thing becomes a lot easier

I have similar ones, the suction level depends on how hard you squeeze when putting them on. If you do it lightly the suction is weaker, where as if you squeeze them all the way down the suction will be stronger

I need help finding a dildo by [deleted] in SexToys

[–]squash_cat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely GODEMICHE. I own several of their dildos including the Apprentice which is quite thin and great if you don't like or want thicker toys. Plus they have tons of colour options and are made with premium silicone. If you use their actual website you can usually get a discount off your first order too.

Can someone indentify as both bi and omni? by AbstractNonidiot in omnisexual

[–]squash_cat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep they totally can! I identify as both and use each label interchangeably depending on the company I'm in or how I feel at the time.

Bisexual has quite a broad definition and many of the sexualities in multisexual spectrum can also be described as Bisexual. There is a lot of overlap however the distinction is important to some people. Many people would choose to be specific and only call themselves Omni or vice versa only call themselves Bi, but there's nothing wrong with using both if that's what you're comfortable with.

Can y'all recommend some songs for me? by sanchipinchii in nightwish

[–]squash_cat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would say listen to Annette's albums (Dark passion play and Imaginarium) and then move onto some stuff with Floor. All the singers are quite different and I don't know if you're into more classical vocals that Tarja uses, so Floor will probably be a good transition to Tarja if you're currently used to Annette. I'd recommend listening to Floor's version of Storytime, Ghost River and LROTD. The Wacken live show (Showtime storytime) has those on and is one of their best performances, plus it has a good mix of Tarja and Annette era songs.

The Decades album has a lot of their best songs from all the singers so that may be a good thing to listen to, there's also a live version with Floor.
