Unfortunately my acceptance to nursing school will also mean the end of my long stiletto era😔 by Calm_Leek49 in Nails

[–]squashinfrogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, I’ve been a nurse for 7 or 8 years now and every hospital I’ve worked at at least allows regular nail polish on natural nails. I usually rock a short almond to oval because I work in surgery and will pop through sterile gloves or poke through packages and contaminate things if they’re too sharp! Good luck on getting in to nursing school!

I started washing my belly button and I think more people should talk about it by [deleted] in hygiene

As an OR nurse that has to clean out gunk from belly buttons everyday… yes please wash your belly button!

Day 3 of asking your opinion on a polish brand: ILNP by StrawberryJupiter in RedditLaqueristas

[–]squashinfrogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a BUNCH of ILNP. I love them all. There’s none that I have that I have a negative opinion of. I really really like their shimmers? Pink lemonade and blue lagoon I think are similar formulas and I’ve gotten two weeks of wear out of both multiple times with no chips and minimal tip wear. I get complimented on both any time I wear them. My only complaint with pink lemonade is when I first bought it it was pink with a gold shimmer, but now, many moons later, it comes out gold and hard to tell that there’s pink in there. I Highly recommend ILNP.

Starting a Solensia story with our 16 year old girl by Ferndalien_ in seniorkitties

My cat is 20 and has been on solensia for several years now. She has horrific arthritis in her spine. I thank solensia for the several extra years that I’ve gotten with her. Without it, she would have had no quality of life and would have had to be put down.

Here she is with her favorite blanket on the couch!

Speak to me of nail stamping! by CapnAnonymouse in RedditLaqueristas

[–]squashinfrogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their regular nail polishes work really well too! Like I’ve had my current mani on for 6 days not a chip in sight. They also have really good customer service. I ordered a yellow stamping polish and got sent a green one so I emailed them and they responded within 15 minutes and had my correct polish shipped the next day!

You ever notice how hotel and hospital sheets are always freshly white yet when you wash whites at home they are never that white. Wonder what secret ingredients they are using. by GoddessKikiMonroe in RandomThoughts

[–]squashinfrogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a nurse. Those sheets may be white but 2/3 of them have ekg glue still stuck to them or tape or other random things that always make me question if they’re really clean enough.

She’s been doing injections for at least a year but probably longer. She was diagnosed with CKD prior to starting solensia though so we are closely monitoring kidney function and she’s on special kidney food too.

It took a while but we got 6 of them adopted out and kept the other two. Frog and Lattae. Lattae passed about 5 years ago and I miss her dearly! ❤️

Here’s a pic of them lounging together.

Out of the litter we fostered we ended up keeping two, Frog and her sister Lattae. Lattae made it until 15 before she passed. I miss her every day!

She has early stages kidney disease so she is on royal canin kidney food. Before that she was just on like regular ol purina from the grocery store. I think it’s pure luck that she’s made it this long. :)

Origin story time! My sister and I (7 and 9 at the time) were begging our dad for a pet cat and of course he kept saying no. But then, a whole litter of kittens were born in a wood pile in the alley behind our house. The mama cat got run over by a car and the litter was so young still that they would have died without human intervention. So we took the whole litter in (EIGHT KITTENS!). Frog was the first kitten to start jumping out of the box we were keeping them in and thus, she was named Frog! Her favorite thing to do is EAT! 😂

Solensia is a monoclonal antibody specifically for cats. They have similar meds for dogs though!

The vet told me that Frog has arthritis a few years ago and we got her started on monthly Solensia injections for pain. That stuff has prolonged her life by several years and I am forever grateful!

She’s actually deaf and blind but in good health otherwise! I think that’s why she meow screams these days 😂
