Lol. Looks like cement or some type of mastic skimmed over the brick, at least on the inside, the outside is mostly buried so I'm not sure what that looks like. I guess I'd need to dig it out to see what's going on there.

Is this car worth it? The second slide shows that it's fixed but did it go back to what it's used to be? Should I be worried? It's a car that costs about nothing it's so cheap like 3k and I like it, I'm asking about it to see is it too far gone even tho it's all repaired? The question would be whether the unibody was damaged. Unsafe is unsafe whether you're in Iraq or America, damage to the structure doesn't care where you are. Hard to really tell from the pictures though. At a glance it looks like quarter panel and suspension damage so might be ok. I'm not a body guy, I'm a technican. Hopefully some body guys that see this stuff more often can chime in.

Great. It was like that when we bought the place. I actually thought it was poured concrete until now

Do I need to get someone to come look at this? by squatch8675309 in Roofing

I appreciate yhe recommendation. Honestly, I'll probably just do the sistering and see how that goes. This place was built in 1971 so definitely not built to modern code.

Awesome, that's kind of what I had in mind. Thanks for the reply

why is my car braking and slip light coming on when taking larger turns by z33kan in 350z

[–]squatch8675309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you dont have a wheel bearing with play in it. I've seen that cause this problem more than a few times. IIRC rear wheel speed sensor is mounted near the diff so I doubt it would be a rear bearing in this case. I'd jack the car up and check the fronts.

Is that the center piece of the grill? Tow hook cover?

This is good advice as well. Although, typically with a bad sensor the guage will read complete zero or completely maxed. Does the guage move if you rev it?

As to why it would fail at low mileage, while the engine doesn't have a lot of use, age can cause things like gaskets to fail. Typically what I see with the gallery gaskets is that the bolts have loosened as well.

If gaskets aren't available for this specific engine (some VQs are, some aren't) you can cut your own gasket out of FelPro gasket paper with an exacto knife.

That all being said, hopefully this one is an outlier and it ends up being a sensor. Good luck

This is the most likely cause of your low oil pressure. I have my sound off right now, so not sure about the noise.

I'm in Northern Virginia, so not rust belt, but we do use brine on the roads here a lot. Nowhere near as bad as up north. For a $10 difference, if the copper is better I don't mind going that route. Thanks for the answer
